Can you lot get a f**king grip please?

Chris Wilder and Alan Knill, I believe, have built up more than enough trust to allow them to sign whoever they walloping well please without too much question from the stands.

Frankly some of the comments I've seen are plain weird. Talk of giving away season tickets, losing faith in Wilder (wtf), booing him if he scores at Wednesday, still hating him if he gets us promoted etc etc etc. Are you football fans or the cast of Loose Women?

Gary Madine is a big thunderc**t. An aerial threat which we don't currently have, a bully up top, a foil for our other attacking players when things aren't going our way, an OPTION to launch it when we need to. He is a talented boy with the ball too, he certainly isn't shit, as he showed for Bolton at the lane when he treat our defence like schoolchildren for 90 minutes.

He has baggage of course he does, but so did Leon and that hasn't worked out too badly.
As for talk about him destroying the team harmony... I'm sure Chris didn't think about that at all and didn't even consider getting opinions from his last 2 managers. Warnock in paticular does not tolerate fools as doesn't Chris.

He called Billy a fat cunt, so fucking what? You'll see worse in the shoutbox on here at 5pm if he's played poorly and missed a sitter.
So he's gone down the line? He was a young, admittedly unhinged lad who got into some bother. He will have been provoked, and he obviously did something he shouldn't have but haven't we all?
He certainly hasn't been in any bother since then - people change.

If you trust Chris and Alan you'll back him just as much the sane amongst us will. If you want to carry on your fit of faux outrage carry on.

Hang on. Everyone has a threshold and I bounce a round it a lot.

I don't want him but understand it. I am sorry you can't ignore people who have a serious issue with this signing. I am sure by next Saturday things will have calmed down but there will be people who are upset with this signing and for good reason. Whether you believe it's a good reason or not is up to you.

Last night I was bang against it, not at booing levels or ditching my season ticket but today my understanding and tolerance is improving considerably. We need to let everything play it's natural course, because whatever we feel about the situation now will evolve, good or bad.

I give it 10 posts max, until someone says "it's 2019, everyone gets offended" or calls someone a "snowflake".

Sharing opinions on a football forum during the January transfer window...who'd have thunk it, eh?

There are people in facebook land saying they will never go to BDTBL again whilst ever Madine is there.....great support for the club....shit-houses of the highest order.

Just shy of attention probably.

It’s just posturing...seen it all before....football fans in general are so fickle.
I’ll make a prediction...if Madine scores for us there will be massive cheering.
If he scores against Wednesday there will be mass adulation from the vast majority of Blades.

Fuck this - I am giving a contract to Cambridge Analytica to download all of these peoples FB details - you're ALL toast ;)

I find the OTT reactions to this signing annoying. Yours is among them. You and some others get so worked up about others getting worked up, it's hypocrisy at its worst.

People are allowed to disagree with the signing, Madine is clearly a bellend and people don't like bellends. If people would rather we not sign a bellend due to his bellend nature, there is no need to get foamy mouthed about 'trust in Wilder' etc.

Get a grip.

I find anyone not trusting Chris Wilder when he is the glue holding this club together annoying, and if you're among them, I find you annoying.

I'm not the one who needs to get a grip, the bed wetters are. You included.

My reaction has been "might do a job, not worth the aggro"

I support Sheffield United so I'll support anyone giving it a go for the team though assuming that picture was of Madine and Wilder and not Shane Long and Wilder or random bloke and an accountant on a lunch.

How exactly have I wet the bed? By disagreeing with you about a signing?

This proves the point I'm making: you aren't trying to reason people out of their flouncy views (like not trusting Wilder or not coming back to the Lane), you are just flouncing about people flouncing.

What the fuck are you talking about?

I already think we have the best management duo in the division, but if they get Gary fucking Madine to look like a footballer then I'll be convinced we've got the best in the world. In Chris and Alan we trust.

They've already done that last season. While he was playing for Bolton.

There's nothing wrong with people being pissed off at Madine signing. There are plenty of obvious, and objectively justifiable reasons for them to be - and I'm talking both on-pitch and off the pitch.

Have we ever signed a player before that has assaulted one of our own fans on the basis that he is a Blade? It's pretty unprecedented and was always likely to cause a furore, hence plenty of us don't believe it's a signing worth making. He's not even at a level where you say 'the guys an arsehole but he is a fantastic player' - whether he is even a top end Championship player is debatable at this point. He certainly didn't show it at Cardiff.

Having said all of that - I'll always support whoever is on the pitch for us and if that happens to include Madine then so be it. Doesn't mean I have to be 'happy' about him signing, nor does it mean I'll berate other fans with different opinions to mine. Everyone needs to grow up a bit.

The irony of you having a hissy fit about other people having hissy fits. Its meant to be funny right?
Obviously its not funny, its just pathetic, but its meant to be right?

You included me in the 'bed wetting' category, I asked why.

The absence of a good answer to that question will prove you are flouncing yourself.
You want me to try and reason with people who will, in no particular order: boo him if he scores against Wednesday, 'are giving/have given their season ticket away', wouldn't support him if he got us promoted, will boo his every touch and so on and so forth?

I have much better ways to spend my time.

We have a budget - one probably considerably smaller than we think and more than likely a lot smaller than we'd ideally need. CW has to pull rabbits and work with rough diamonds.

He's identified madine as someone with the skills to enhances our squad AND be within budget. Anyone have suggestions of similar alternatives that we could realisticly get?

We need extra options and strength in depth to try prevent a repeat of last seasons second half of the season. Fck apparent 'morals'. More I think about it, the more this appears a worthwhile risk.

Do you think he went up to this kid, asked him if he was a Blade and decided to take his jaw off?

His reaction was completely unacceptable, that of a complete imbecile, but do we honestly think he wasn't prodded and provoked?

Far too sensible post. We'll have none of that round here. ;)

I agree some of the views you described might be held by people immune to reason, but the way you are instead choosing to spend your time is crying about people's opinions in the 'millennial, snowflake SJW' mould you presumably despise.
