Talking about Bladey claptrap!

Come on pinchy, I had you down as more knowledgeable than that when it comes to footballing transfers. :)

I am. Players may well know who’s going out. Who is coming in is none of their business. We have a management team; not a dressing room referendum!

I'm not claiming to be in the know at all and never receive transfer info nor do I ask to be honest. One of my good mates is an ex-player (was only lower league, doesn't really play at all now), he played with one of our strikers (not billy) at YTS and is still really good friends with him....said the players know we're signing Madine and have been informed about it due to potential unrest - Wilder is signing him regardless, he wasn't gaining permission from the players.

Supposedly he's an absolute nightmare to play against hence having a few enemies in football, he's quite arrogant and vocal on the pitch constantly winding the opposition up....obviously because of this not many people like him, this is why they felt it best to tell the players. The defenders in particular think he's a really good signing, in fairness to him he tore us apart when they beat us last season.

I guess the positive for Madine is he's hated by the club already so its not like we're going to hate him anymore than we do, its a no lose situation for him if he's willing to put up with the initial stick.

I assure you it doesn’t. Not on incoming transfers. They are not told, never mind consulted.

I know more about almost everything than you do my friend.

I have first hand experience of it happening so I’m not sure how you can assure me that it doesn’t.

You also seem to be hinting at players having a final decision on whether a player is signed or not, which isn’t what is being said.

Back in your day this probably didn’t happen but management has since moved on. People have realised there’s a better way of doing things.

He can fuck right off. A knob jockey of the highest order.

I will not be supporting him if he puts on a Blade shirt. And I would rather our club didn’t get promoted that way.

That said, him and Billy Sharp would make a good partnership upfront. If only he wasn’t such a raging wanker.

How do you know he is have you met him ?

James Shield's article in the Star: "United's most senior players are believed to have signalled their willingness to work with Madine, aged 28, as they chase top-flight football."

It's almost like not every professional football club works in the same manner isn't it. Unless of course you've worked for all 92 league clubs? Which I'm sure you have.

It’s professional football, not the Sunday League. “I’ve gotta mate oo plays up front lads. Is it alreyt if I bring him to training?”

Dear, oh Bladey Dear. How little you lot know how things are, as opposed to how you would like them to be.

Noise and nonsense, as Tufty said about “early crosses”.

You don’t ask the turkey for an opinion on the choice of Christmas roast. You have no first hand experience of any value whatsoever. I do.

If Adkins had won matches we'd love him, it's as simple as that, the only reason for being "disconnected" was because we were struggling.

Adkins comes across as a nice bloke, but then again I don't know him personally. Maybe you could back up why he is a twat? Not being a good enough manager for United, doesn't make someone a twat.
If Adkins won matches, I'd still think he talked in endless pathetic platitudes which made me not want him to be our manager (hence the twat comment, a word without a fixed definition).

The reason I brought it up though, which you have chosen to ignore, is that being in BL at that time was awful - the atmosphere was affected not only by our poor form, but by our relationship with him and some of the players. Your 'I just watch them play football for 90mins' comment suggests that fans like the majority in this thread have no reason to be worried about signing an unarguably toxic player.

Wilder is very close, best mates with the assistant manager at Bolton Wanderers
Who no doubt will have given wilder a sparkling reference regards Madines character and personality. Wilder puts so much importance in building up team spirit, he’s said many times he does due diligence on the background of every player.

Most fans are guessing and making a judgement regards Madines character where as CW has reliable inside information.

Also regards his use to our team, again our fans are guessing because unlike Wilder they don’t have a team of experts studying hours of video tape (do they still have that) working our attacking strategies and formations.

We can all guess and give opinions but of course Wilder is on the inside and knows the tactics to be used to get the best out of Madine, so is the best person to make a judgment.
If Wilder says yes, then logic says he’s a better chance of being as asset to SU than we think.

Also it’s not wise to make a judgement based on media reports, talking from experience they are not accurate.
A made up example is a known by the police nasty drug dealer might get murdered by a rival drug dealer but the report in the papers might read. ‘Innocent teenager shot in broad daylight motive unknown. His mother says he was such a kind loving boy, regular church goer and was at college hoping to train to be a doctor. His girlfriend says he was the best father ever and will be missed, it’s a tragedy”

It’s very possible that when Madine goes out some know he’s a footballer and have a go at winding him up being clever. Eventually Madine snaps and loses his temper turning to violence. Seems he selects very carefully where he drinks now as there’s been no recent reports of trouble. Still not right though and I don’t like him but I’m not bothered about liking or disliking any of our players.

So which of McGoldrick and Sharp would you be wanting him to replace them?
That's not how it works, its a squad game and Madine wold be there to help those 2 ,how many times a season do you play an unchanged 11 with no subs ? Sharp and McGoldrick are playing out of their skins at the moment ,Clarke not so ,so another strong player in their will supplement our attack.

Just put the below in rumours section on the same topic. I'm sure you'll be able to work out the player I'm referring to....we don't have that many strikers to choose between -

\/ \/ \/

Fantastic timing by Wilder, I must say. The fans finally unite and rally behind the team, creating the sort of atmosphere that could get us promoted, then barely a week later we're signing Madine, who will divide the fans, cause a lot of ill feeling and only lead to a flatter atmosphere at Bramall Lane.

Possibly a huge asset negated before we've even had time to benefit from it.

This for me is the biggest issue .Fans are already saying they've lost trust in Wilder or they are going to give Madine that much grief he will go back to Cardiff. I think these comments are ridiculous personally but it's obvious there is going to be a toxic mood whenever he comes on with some fans giving him pelters. If he is a quick success that should soon pass as football but if he's not and we pick up bad results certain fans will pin it on this signing.

Danny04 Danny me old, could you please ask Chris and put Pinchy out of his misery.

He's like Graeme Hick at the moment, just can't get a start.

Football fandom is mainly theatre and conscious tribalism, so why would any fan want to support Madine? Not sure how getting promoted off the back of it would change that, I'd rather not go up and like my squad.

I'd rather be managed by Wilder and have Billy captain in the Championship then be manged by Megson with Madine captain in the Champions League.
So you are saying you don't want us to go up if Madine signed for us and the team was managed by Wilder/captained by Sharp....even if the latter were happy with the signing. ?

Bizarre

That's because some of our fans are dense as fuck.

We had all this when we signed Cresswell too.

You're talking just as much rubbish now as you did when you said Chris Wilder would be a failure.

No, I’m telling you how it is. Bladey Blades as usual are telling it as they would like it to be.

I repeat. Existing players are not consulted on recruitment. Just sit down, deflate the hot air and reflect on just how absurd a situation that would be. What if the players don’t agree? What if they agree with each other but not with the manager.

Too many of you have Sunday League mentality about professional football. Not surprising, given it’s your preferrred standard of football.

Dear, oh Bladey dear. Get me away from the lunatics.

So in summary he chinned a guy in a pub, wound a few bleeding hearts up and.....wait for it.....accused Billy of being fat. You'll be struggling in your open market to find someone with the requisite fine upstanding morals in your quest for the perfectly behaved footballer.

Knocking people unconscious and breaking a jaw and cheekbone in five places in separate attacks is pretty rare for most people, including most imperfect footballers.

You talk so much shite it's untrue.
