Not read all the 16 pages so assuming all the gossip is true - if so then this will be the worst transfer since Piggy Curran.

Hate the nasty Bastard.

I don’t think his criminal conviction is the whole reason people would rather he not sign.
It’s the fact that he has proved himself to be a wanker of the highest order.

Not the whole reason, but the fact he spun the jaw of a fellow Blade is certainly the main factor for some, regardless of how true the official account of events is.

Yep let’s just forget he assaulted a bloke for simply being a Blades fan. Yet many are welcoming him in open arms and criticising those who don’t want him. Weird fucking fans some of you.

Speaking for myself I've not forgotten, just got far bigger things to worry about other than things I can do fuck all about.

Football fandom is mainly theatre and conscious tribalism, so why would any fan want to support Madine? Not sure how getting promoted off the back of it would change that, I'd rather not go up and like my squad.

I'd rather be managed by Wilder and have Billy captain in the Championship then be manged by Megson with Madine captain in the Champions League.

and some could say "weird fucking fans for not supporting the manager in his latest acquisition"

UTB

He was convicted in court ffs, what kind of evidence do you require?

So was Ched Evans.

I'm not saying it didn't happen, I'm saying what happened seemed a bit odd and it wouldn't surprise me if there was more to it. It also wouldn't surprise me if there wasn't.

He can fuck right off. A knob jockey of the highest order.

I will not be supporting him if he puts on a Blade shirt. And I would rather our club didn’t get promoted that way.

That said, him and Billy Sharp would make a good partnership upfront. If only he wasn’t such a raging wanker.

I watch them play football for 90 minutes a week! They ain't my mates, why should I really care what they are like off the pitch as long as they aren't breaking the law*? I dare say if I spent a bit of time with the current squad there would no doubt be some players I wouldn't get on with, but it's their football ability that matter most.

* I understand Madine has broken the law, however that was 5 years ago, so if he behaves whilst being an employee of SUFC, that's fine with me.

So what is the most reasonable thing to believe with the evidence we have at hand?

If we had to wait for 100% conclusive evidence for everything we think and feel we'd get nowt done. Wilder might be lying about being a blade, I'll hold off on my support and adulation until I'm sure...

If he was still a dickhead Wilder wouldn’t sign him and Warnock wouldn’t have.

People can change you know.

They also fail to change or make amends too.

All I'm saying is, if we want to crack on an achieve promotion, there must be other options without resorting to a player who isn't in form, has publicly slagged off our club in the past, assaulted our fans, slagged off our captain, acted like a shitehouse against us and has convictions off the field for generally being a dick. He isn't the only option on the open market.

That's not too much to ask, really.

Anyone else actually forensically looked at that picture and decided the nose isn't right to be Madine?

That won’t be the whole story but this scenario has happened several times that we know about. That says to me he likes a drink a bit too much and has a problem with his temper.
Well this is the thing I'm pointing at. I'm reading more and more Blades flipping their shit cos "Madine spun the jaw of a fellow Blade just cos he was a Blade, Madine hates Blades" - it's far more likely that he's just a bell-end, not an anti-Blades bell-end. Personally, that's where I draw the line. Some of my best mates are bell-ends. Some are anti-Blades bell-ends. I'd support the bell-ends playing for us but not the anti-Blades bell-ends. :D

I do wonder how many people holding Madine's conviction against him were championing that Ched should've been able to get on with his life and career after paying his debt to society (prior to him having his conviction overturned)...

I’ve bo qualms about his conviction. Truth be told I’d completely forgotten about it until it was mentioned elsewhere last night.

My problem (if you can call it that) is that he’s a bell end.

But overriding that, I saw a stat last week that said we have converted just 3 corners this season. 2 of them being own goals. Our presence in the air is clearly very poor. Madine is a nuisance.

So a good signing on that part.

Bell end though.

We don't just watch them play football though do we, we actively support a team and its players. It's as if you don't remember what it was like to support a team that was completely disconnected to its fans under Adkins etc. But I suppose it doesn't matter that we think Adkins or Hammond were twats, we only go to watch a ball get kicked.

People can believe whatever they like. He was a fucking twat for doing it either way and was rightly banged up. All I was doing was pointing out, as others have, that it seems odd that the victim just said 'United' and that was enough for a crack in the jaw. Again, it may well have gone down that way, but it feels like one of those tales where if one of your kids told you that you'd get the feeling there was more to it.

At the end of the day, I trust CW and AK to do the right thing for Sheffield United FC.

If they think he is a reformed character and is what we need to throw on in the last 20 minutes, to knock tired defends around and make gaps, I will go along with it.

If he scores at the rust bucket, I will laugh and applaud.

I won't boo the lad, because I didn't even boo Marlon King, a pathetic excuse for a "man", if ever there was one.

Final point; people talk about him bossing us around when he scored at BDTBL last time, that was when we had Stearman, not the toughest lad in the school yard by a long shot, we have Egan now, would be a very different story in my opinion.

Anyway, if Wilder wants him, and he pulls on our colours, he will get my support, as much as I wished this was not happening.
Stearman looked a bit scared to go near him in thst game

Another thing what worries me is our players get slated for poor form, missed chances, misplaced passes ie Goldy, sharp, olly etc
Imagine the reaction when madine doesn't put in harry Kane like performances?

I saw a stat last week that said we have converted just 3 corners this season.

And we've had more corners than any other team this season. Pretty sure we get more crosses in than any other side too (don't quote me on that). You can see why it's going ahead from a footballing point of view.

Like I said, he's going to have to put in some phenomenal performances to win us over.
