Well if they've just announced the signing of one of our ex full weight wankers (Bruce), it is only fair that we announce the signing of one of their ex full weight wankers in return.

We have had a wanker swap.

Its a plan to let him slide in gently under the radar when they announce the Pigs game...

"Sheffield Derby moved to Monday Night!"
Oh, and we've signed Gary Madine

I will run naked from The Railway to The Cricks if it happens. You can hold me to that. And it won't be pretty.

Bet voided as I'd not seen Richard Cadette 's information prior to posting :D

I'm terrified he'll be right and I'm not too keen on humiliating myself out of choice.

I'll still be absolutely gobsmacked if this comes off. I hate the bastard.

Given our budget and ownership issues how long is the list of available players we will (can afford) to say no too?

What a season it would be if we used him to get us over the line with promotion. Rather that than another play off final where we didn't have enough striker options at Wembley to put up a fight.

I wanna stay and watch the fireworks for a change not be the club with the record number of playoff defeats at Wembley.
Don't worry pal, we're going up top 2

1st thing this cunt needs to do is come out and admit that he's said things and made mistakes and he wants to make amends by doing it for us on the pitch.

He needs to come with his tail between his legs and kind of grovel to us before he even kicks a ball..

All that said, Billy will have given it the stamp of approval if it is happening.

I do hope not. I don’t want Madine but you don’t allow existing players to have a veto on incoming signings. Sharp is not part of the management team.

He's the club captain. Wilder has already said on numerous occasions that he is consulted on certain things about the club.

It is common to do this, and it is of course common sense. You want to know how a player will be received. Michael Brown said on the Undr the Cosh podcast that he and Paddy Kenny were consulted by Warnock before he signed El Haj Diouf at Leeds, and that Chris Coleman was another manager who regularly asked such questions. Sharp won't have a veto, but his opinion will carry some weight.

Since when does the club captain have a say on recruitment? Especially in relation to his own place in the team. Bladey claptrap. It doesn’t happen.

Not really concerned about Sharp's reaction...that's playground stuff. Professionals get on with the job.

It's the drinking and brawling, and what it says about his attitude, that concern me.

That said, on a footballing basis alone, I think it would be a decent signing.

100% my view.

It does happen at certain clubs and after what Wilder said about Madine after the infamous incident with Sharp then it will have happened here.

Not sure how you’ll scrape yourself out of this one? :)

Even Pinchy with his lack of football knowledge knows this. Just suits his agenda against Billy.

I’ve forgotten more about the game than you’ll ever know. I even venture outside S2 from time to time.

Players are not consulted on potential signings. It doesn’t happen. It would cause all sorts of problems. You lot need to stop placing Bladey Bill on a pedestal. You’re embarrassing yourselves. Do you think Tufty asked him whether he should be left out when he was rubbish last season?

Oh dem Bladey Blades...

Because it doesn’t happen. It’s another daft fans’ fallacy. Do you think they have a vote in the dressing room?

Sounds like we should blame Bladey Bill if he signs? Boo Sharp, Boo.

Talking about Bladey claptrap!

Come on pinchy, I had you down as more knowledgeable than that when it comes to footballing transfers. :)

wizadry give him a couple more hours digging! Only in s36

Just wait for the signing when Chris says I spoke to Billy and he’s fine with it then hopefully this fucking clown can depart taking this bladey shit with him

Large Mendonca above your post has it spot on. Just read it, take it in, and think about it for one minute, you’ll come round to the idea that it will have happened. :)

I'm not explicitly talking about transfers, but Sergio Ramos has a big say in off the field matters at Real, as an example.

Again, fair enough but league one with all due respect is a completely different ball game to that of the championship, the defenders are a lot better and most of them know how to handle a big daft twat like Madine.

He’s just not for me on footballing ability alone never mind the other bollocks. If we can’t get better than him then we just need to not bother with a striker, and if we can’t get better than him then that’s rather shit really.

I share your concerns, but sometimes the big picture needs to be given some serious thought.

I'd find it hard on all fronts with Madine and felt the same about Hanson.

It's a tough call by CW.

Just look at it the other way round for a moment, if Wilder went through with it without speaking to the captain and player who he’s had issues with in the past then that would be rank bad management but we know that won’t be the case.

I think that’s right given the history between them, Billy’s standing (club captain), the run we’re currently on and Billy’s form. We don’t know for certain if Billy will be consulted but I reckon Chris is a smart cookie and I think he will have done.

I can't help but think that this is tottally not worth it.
Is he the only player out there within our budget?
If so,for the shitstorm this will bring,i hope Wilder's got a good introduction ready on his unveiling .
