Surely there are better, less twattish big lumps around?

I am sure we could all name, names - but none of us know that they are actually available.

We all know CW does due diligence before anyone signs - if the rumours are true then CW wants him in the club.

If this is as close as the ITK say it is, then due diligence has already been done - the requirement for Warnock will be one in, one out and Cardiff already have someone in mind according to todays papers.

Fuck me. Can see the "agent madine" posts already.
Hes a twerp bastard and I'd hate to see him in a Blades shirt but I also back Wilder 100%. :(

Surely he'd be a bit rich for our blood anyway? He might not have justified it on the pitch but his last fee commanded was £6m.

The Championship is mental, it's like old computers on eBay, people still think their Amiga 1200 is worth its RRP, would Caerdydd really let him go out on loan?

Wouldn't they look to a Stoke or a Villa, the "we need to go up or we might be fucked" crowd and try and get their money back or make a profit?

I didn't agree with Hanson in L1, but he was an insurance against certain teams - perhaps, and it's only a guess - Madine is an uprated hanson in the eyes of CW. To be fair to Hanson he played a small part. We'd have won the league anyway that season without hanson - this season it will be much more closely fought right to the end.

For me I am playing devils advocate - just trying to see logic through the madness - it doesn't mean I agree - just tying to see the end game - which is a massive (no pun honest!) prize .

Again, fair enough but league one with all due respect is a completely different ball game to that of the championship, the defenders are a lot better and most of them know how to handle a big daft twat like Madine.

He’s just not for me on footballing ability alone never mind the other bollocks. If we can’t get better than him then we just need to not bother with a striker, and if we can’t get better than him then that’s rather shit really.

I just don't get this "different option bollocks"

What people are saying is that if our good football isn't working bring a sub on and fucking hoof it
What other good team does that ? Why is it something that United fans seem to want ?

Our playing style won't work every single game, but as long as it works most games it's fine. The way to improve is by getting players who will be better at playing the style that we have chosen to play, not bring in something totally alien to what we are trying to do

That’s a simplistic viewpoint....are you saying you’d rather see us lose beautifully scoring beautiful goals than have the odd 15 minute spell where we win ugly or score scrappy goals.

In an ideal world every manager would sign 10 quality outfield players and everyone plays Barcelona style football
The problem is high quality players by definition cost a premium, picking up a Norwood on the cheap is a rarity.
However history shows that many things can overcome and beat higher quality players....things like tactics, team spirit, effort/ hard work, physicality, gamesmanship etc. Wimbledon had hardly any relative quality in the 80’s but beat all the top teams.

I’ll give you a great example of how your argument is flawed.
Remember the Hull v Sheff Wed playoff final. After 15 minutes you could see the pattern of the game. SW controlled possesion but all their passing was in the centre circle with loads of sideways passing. Hull let SW have the ball in safe areas but once SW got near Hull penalty area their defending was like a swarm of bees. Then Hull counter attacks were quick and decisive. Basically SW played pretty football but couldn’t create anything whereas Hull were more basic but always looked dangerous. SW were never going to score until....on the 88th minute SW brought on big lump Nuihu as sub and they then played desperate hoof ball in the final 5 minutes and for the first time looked dangerous as Hull struggled to cope with Nuihu’s physical presence.

Wilder will study the opposition in every match and will be aware that every opposition player has strengths and weaknesses.
Let’s assume the opposition defence are excellent at cutting out crosses and marking our players out of the game but they don’t like physicality. Wilder knows we’ll be in for a tough match, so he decides just for this 1 gone our best chance of scoring might be from corners and freekicks. He can try plan A in the 1st half, if it doesn’t work, then for the last 20 minutes bring on Madine and go route one.

People seem to forget that James Hanson played a major part in helping us gain promotion from league 1.
Yes he had little ability, looked crap at times but he created panic every time we put in a high cross with Sharp feeding off the knock downs. Assume Wilder has learnt from the Hanson experience and wants an upgraded version of Hanson to add to his tool box.

" James Hanson played a major part in helping us gain promotion from league 1 " ?

Please tell me you're being sarcastic or at least , just having a laugh .

I said a few weeks ago that if it’s the Andy Carroll’s and Shane Long’s of the world we’re looking at I’d give up. Apparently it can get worse...

p.s Don’t ya just love strikers that don’t score goals.

My ITK person said Zohore was coming along on Tuesday, if that's fell through could it just be Cardiff pushing Madine rather than us chasing him?

Can't decide from the details within your post if that's running naked cause you're happy or annoyed.

Ched?

I’d imagine, unless it was very cold, you’d be able to tell what with him being naked.

I'm not Imaging too much though :(

Not Ched, no.

You have your own personal ITK’r?

Just read the list of players who have crossed over to us. There have been some great ones including Derek Geary one of our most loved players still with the club, Alan Quinn celebrating in front of the kop after scoring for the pigs, Lee Bromby, it's a long list and if it's true I would take Madine if that's what "our situation" dictates we must do.

Given our budget and ownership issues how long is the list of available players we will (can afford) to say no too?

What a season it would be if we used him to get us over the line with promotion. Rather that than another play off final where we didn't have enough striker options at Wembley to put up a fight.

I wanna stay and watch the fireworks for a change not be the club with the record number of playoff defeats at Wembley.

People saying they’ll boo him is ridiculous. Shout ‘wanker’ at him instead when he touches the ball, it’s much more of a succinct insult.

‘Bastard’ is a word I’d use to really insult someone. Said with venom it can really put across your point. So he’s a bastard.

I don't care that he played for Wednesday, I'm more bothered that he's shit.

However, we could use a battering ram style forward, and if Wilder thinks Madine's the best option, then we should get behind him - assuming his antics are a thing of the past.

I just don't get this "different option bollocks"

Did you not watch League 1? Are you aware of James Hanson?

Peterborough away that year is a prime example
