Just read Roy’s views , sounds like our view on Woodburn , I’m worried we’ve got a Woodburn mk2
I don’t think that’s the case at all. Plenty of positive posts on there about the kid but you’d be hard pressed to find one positive about Woodburn from us.

Have we ever signed a player in the January transfer window as early as December, I know wilder said he hoped to get two over the line early but December 28th. ? Hopefully the next early one will be before the 1st.

He was sent back last week.

I thought he was still officially our player

Anyone know if he will be eligible for the Play offs ?

im not jinxing it after we were top beating leeds I booked the play off week, off work only to for us to drop off. not thinking about playoffs yet til late march :D

Its as good a loan signing as we could have hoped for.

Young, skillful, adds something (long range shooting) that we don't have. With a bonus of a year in the Champ under his belt.

Can never know if it will work out but I'd have took Dowell over Harry Wilson at the start of the year

I think he'd probably be better up front, if we get him back, let Dowell worry about competing with Duffy and get Woodburn to watch what McG does.

He seems about as good a Brooks replacement (creative, left-footed, plays in a number of positions) as we could realistically expect to get. I'm sure it'll all go wrong somehow a la Wilson/Woodburn, but this could be a great signing.

I agree, but would imagine to maximise the funds he has at his disposal this move will mostly be budgeted for by Wilder ending the Woodburn loan early. We’ll after all be making moves up front if all goes to plan, so Woodburn’s chances of football will hardly be guaranteed to improve if he’s just fighting for a forward role rather than with Duffy.

Soz ,but someone had to.

Aye, Wilder is all about round pegs round holes so if you're struggling to find a place for someone and it's costing you, a club in our position needs them off the wage bill.

Great signing and nice to see another player sign with a 90's haircut!

i actually think this signing could prove to be the most important bit of business we do this January. Takes the pressure off Duff and gives us competition in an area currently with very little, other than McGoldrick dropping in there, which to be fair he's done to good effect but Dowell should offer something different in there. The long range goals are an obvious plus he can score! I'll spare the you tube video from last season but he looks very impressive.
