just heard on the radio he's died at the age of 48.

I remember him doing Gary Sinclair's job when i used to go to the lane as a nipper

Blimey....an old mate of mine. A Blade and a good bloke all round. Very sad to hear.

Wasn't he the guy in the very loud shirts and pat sharpe hair in the mid 90s end of season videos??

Used to listen to him on the radio in the evenings when the kids were nippers, after they were in bed. Must have been around 89/90. He must have been good to choose radio over TV.

RIP

RIP ,he was a good guy ,met him quite a lot through work and he lived near me years ago on Springfield Rd.
He was like a council version of Kid Jenson and Gary Davies in the nicest possible way.

That's sad news. I worked with Dave for a few years when he set up Peak 107 in Chesterfield and again later on at Hallam. He once brought Michael Vaughan into Peak to interview him when Vaughan had just been made captain of Yorkshire. Kilner said to me out of earshot, "He's a pig but he's a bloody good cricketer and he'll be captain of England one day." How right he was.

RIP Dave. :(

Was just about to mention Springfield Road! I was round the corner off Stowe Avenue. I remember his cars were always covered in sponsorship messages. Spot on re council kid jenson.
RIP

peter withe, 84?

No.

Hardly saw us on TV at all in those days, so must have watched the season videos a hundred times, and I can still remember some quotes. The comment I mentioned was said before a match where a defender on loan was allowed to play against the club we loaned him from. 1991/92...
