Any injury news?

Think he’d be very useful against the height/ strength of WBA on Friday.

Listening to Blades Pod earlier, Blades Analytics and Beans suggest that WBA are weaker down the wings, so we might end up using McG and Billy/ Washington with Duffy in behind to dispatch all the low crosses that we'll be sticking in

Although McG can't finish...

You mean in the same way he has been “useful” in the vast majority of his Blades career ?

I think I know the kind of “useful” you mean ;)

According to The Star last Thursday he had a minor hip problem prior to Brentford game but volunteered to play.

Seems that this may have aggravated a previous injury but it is not specified what the new injury is.

Only seen them on TV, but they look very strong attacking down the flanks. Harvey Barnes looks a tremendous player

Amazes me how little our fans think of Leon.

Brought in for next to nothing, recovers from injury to fire us into the Championship at the end of his first season with us.

Then for half a season plays the best football of his career and for about 1/3 of the season there is nobody better than him in the Championship. His form dips, along with the team’s from Christmas onwards. Finishes on 18 goals.

This season, not played much, but is 33 and still contributing the odd goal here and there. And yet, everyone slates him. I really don’t get it.

I dare say if James Hanson had done all this for us, rather than Leon he’d be a cult hero for us a la Shipperley. Wonder what the prejudice might be...

I love Leon. I honestly think he's better than even he thinks he is, he's a bit frustrating but mostly because he seems to get in his own head and hold back. He's got a reyt shot on him (Bristol away last season), is probably our best all round finisher (Billy is poacher extraordinaire though obviously) and the work he does outside of scoring is really undervalued, he wins headers which we don't really do without him, and he can put the ball on a plate in the box with the best of them.

Helped us escape League One, a brace against Wendy, 4 goals in one game including a perfect hattrick and then another perfect hattrick a couple of weeks later, and those Hull goals were top, top class. Him and Billy are a legendary frontline.

I even go back to the days of league 1 and remember a few performances where he was brought on as a sub and the opposition absolutely shat their pants. He is a clever footballer, he's not the best player in the world but I don't think anyone has ever said that. He's good to have in the squad and he scored 2 goals against the pigs last year at the sty, without which the goal that Duffy scored wouldn't have mattered.

Contrast that with some of the players that have been lauded by our fans over the years and he's a legitimate club legend. Did used to play for the pigs though and for some people this is seemingly never forgotten.

Maybe a few of you can get Leon credit for finding Jimmy Hoffa if you try hard enough ;)

His goal v Fulham not long before half time, was outstanding.
Pace, power, ingenuity, forcing a space, fierce hit from a tight angle.
He made and took the goal by himself.

Hmmmmmm !

He doesn't play for us and neither will he.

And let's give thanks to the good Lord above that he never will darken the hallowed doors of Bramall Lane . What could he possibly contribute to us at the age of 36 .

Pull the other one... Billy Sharp (Boyhood Blade/ one of our own/ one of our best ever players and also captain) doesn't even get respect from a percentage of our fan base.

Its not a race issue, its just that some of our fans are mardy bastards who are very hard to please.

Just four more games will make it 84 with us for Leon and a record.
Of the 18 previous clubs he's played for Wednesday had the most games out of him (83 games - 18 goals).
