Amazes me how little our fans think of Leon.

Brought in for next to nothing, recovers from injury to fire us into the Championship at the end of his first season with us.

Then for half a season plays the best football of his career and for about 1/3 of the season there is nobody better than him in the Championship. His form dips, along with the team’s from Christmas onwards. Finishes on 18 goals.

This season, not played much, but is 33 and still contributing the odd goal here and there. And yet, everyone slates him. I really don’t get it.

I dare say if James Hanson had done all this for us, rather than Leon he’d be a cult hero for us a la Shipperley. Wonder what the prejudice might be...
Chris Wilder rates him highly ......& Chris is no fool. So the ones who unfairly criticise Leon are casting aspersions on Chris' s excellent judgement. I believe anyone who us a critic of Chris is a fool.

Just four more games will make it 84 with us for Leon and a record.
Of the 18 previous clubs he's played for Wednesday had the most games out of him (83 games - 18 goals).
Yes Leon loves our , says it is a pleasure to play for the Blades & thinks Chris Wilder best manager he's ever played for. He did wonders last season when Billy was injured then out of form. Without Leon playing virtually every game we would have been in a relegation battle. But the know nowts say he doesn't try hes overweight etc ....all lies as Chris wouldn't tolerate it. Chris must be sick to the back teeth of these bellends. Be told them to take a long hard look at themselves .. .but don't suppose they have , as they think they know more than he does because they play at being a football manager on their play stations ! LOL

I think you would struggle hard to find a single member of this forum who is a critic of Chris Wilder per se , or one who does not recognise his tremendous achievements , not only with us but also with his previous clubs .

Nevertheless , contrary to the opinion that some like you would have us believe , he is human like the rest of us and , as such , capable of making mistakes as all humans do .

As a matter of fact , with regard to Leon , I believe that CW 's faith in him has been fully justified and that he can still do a job for us and score the type of goals that no one else is capable of , but please spare me the sycophantic nonsense that his judgment is invariably correct and that any one who questions it in any respect is automatically a fool .

You're right. Wilder also knows that in his budget, Leon is about as good as he can get too, unless he pulls a rabbit out of the hat.

When Leon played on loan for Scunthorpe Alan Knill was Manager & Chris Wilder was Assistant Manager. When they had reverse roles at Scunthorpe. At the end of the loan period Leon said he was sad he had to return to his parent club & would have I preferred to stay there. Some management teams are mediocre ...or even bad ..... but I believe CW & AK are exceptional. And Leon is proof .....twice !

Your response entirely misses the point I made in my post . I clearly stated that I felt his judgement in respect of Leon has been justified but went on to question your assertion that anyone who questions ANY of CW's decisions should be classed as a fool .

Perhaps you would now like to retract that statement or if not , provide a more detailed assessment as to how and why that is the case .

Au contraire. It’s a well known fact that Chris isn’t human but was carved from the Milllstone Grit of a Stockbridge Quarry.
