No Money

We're third in the league
5th Top scorers in the league
4th* Top defensive (*Joint 4th)
Billy is 5th top scorer
No long term injuries (except Kean Bryan)
No imminent sales
2 players for each position, except JOC ( Kean Bryan when fit)

Why do we need to spend money anyway?

Billy's legs have gone, McGoldrick is rubbish, Norwood is over-rated Egan is no better than Stearman/Jake Wright, JOC isn't the same player since his head was turned by Brighton, Stevens has no end product, Duffy can only do it for an hour....

All views given by the 'expert's on these very pages!!

My personal view, is if last January's signings are anything to go by, we'd be better off spending the money on new netting for the Bramall Lane stand...

Said on sky that our team cost around 5 million and 4 mill of that was when we bought John Egan .
I wonder if JOC will go in Jan when Brighton come knocking . No wait , we are a selling club so he probably will go!

Yes but it's all in 2p's.......

Well if it's a 50 gallon one we'll have about £1500, so we'll be able to get Clayton Donaldson back and get the playing squad a fish supper each.

This is the point, 'substantial funds' and 'no money' could be the same thing depending on where you stand on the way United do stuff.

If we get a couple of ~£3m players and a decent loanee to me that's quite substantial, based on our approach to the transfer market, but to someone who judges us by looking at relegated Prem teams and Leeds/Forest/FLDC that's fuck all and McCabe and Princey are paupers and we're fucked rabble rabble rabble

That’s exactly what I believe the situation is
For some spending 5 million is substantial as it’s the most we’ve ever spent in any January transfer window
For other 5 million is nothing because we’ll really struggle to buy a player guaranteed to be better than what we have.
As I said our best hope is probably a loan but that’s easier said than done.
Previously we’ve tended to target players under the radar who have potential and CW hopes to get the best out of them

But if we want a top Championship player then don’t see how it can be kept under the radar.
Think those types of targets receive media attention with plenty of clubs chasing their services.

No money in January! Just another winter at Bramall Lane :(

Well I trust Wilder, and the board will do what they can reasonably without risking too much (for self interest and club safety reasons) and to be honest I don't think Wilder will be asking for too much.

And even though they've all gone out again, last season's JTW signings (bar Wilson maybe) did arrest the slide a bit and didn't cost too much. We were never really properly at it after losing Coutts but the period up until we got reinforcements was far worse than the period after.

This kind of post is why I don't get these threads. You've just made McGrath's day worse, based on unsubstantiated rumours which could have been pulled out of someone's arse.

This if true is a serious miss judgment on their behalf, both of them. We have an opportunity to make it to the promised land and the fail to back Wilder they’ll never be forgiven , this goes to the both of them.
My problem is I think both of them don’t give a flying fook.

Your problem is that you premise your remarks ‘if true’ and then, because it suits the agenda, assume it’s the gospel itself. You’re not alone. It’s de rigeur in S2.

If you genuinely think Kevin McCabe doesn’t give a fuck you couldn’t be more wrong. I suspect you’re just wildly jerking your knees.

Well we need to deduct £4 million for Norwood and Johnston for a start before trying to sign anymore players, I was told by a very reliable source that is very close to whats happening at director level that we are looking at Modric or Erickson to take over from Duffy.
Well you started it.:tumbleweed:

Ho hum.

Brooks, Maguire, Walker and gate/season ticket/TV/marketing all gone on wages again, huh?

Oh, hang on. We signed Egan, didn't we?

pommpey

So the rumour, entirely lacking in detail, provenance or authentication, is true, because it suits the...

You really couldn’t wait, could you?

Well, if Kev is gonna deliver his boast of Europe in 5 years ...........

There was no such boast, merely a statement of aspiration.

Don’t let the truth get in the way though. Every opportunity must be taken.

Wilder talks about value, and there is very very little value when you shop in January.
Our best hope is loans, some disgruntled players not getting a game etc.
I don't have a problem with that at all, but I have no idea who I would even aim for other than Hogan.

Dont do social media only this blog I as much as everyone on here wish it was bollocks but its from a reliable source.
If some quality comes in the window drag this thread up and slate me but i would smiling too.

Each way bet, eh?

Who’s the source who discloses confidential information in breach of trust?

All I wish to say regards JTW is this:

No deal (for a player) is better than a bad deal

Nothing is agreed until McCabe and HRH says it's agreed

Be-leave means be-leave

My problem with this situation is that winning the battle in war McCabe vs The Prince has become more important than the good of United

Er, to try and get auto cos we're shit in play offs.

Availiable in the JTW this has come from a source that is very close to the manager.
With the two men still who run the show still at war this is no surprise.

Why don't we wait till the JTW actually closes before stirring it up getting everyone arguing amongst ourselves instead of supporting the team. I smell a pig!

I think that from the snippets revealed lately about Woodburn, this one's now starting to unravel. The timing of this is no coincidence. It seems he was a major spend last summer with the loan fee, wages and penalties and this will be a major factor in determining how much we have (or haven't) got to spend in the JTW.

Quite a feat of mental gymnastics that.

It's a 9.7 from me, Belgium are being tight though and have only given you a 7.2.

Again I say its come from a good source no need to name drop on here.

Furthermore we will have our cake and eat it, and they can go whistle for additional funds.

Those are our red lines.

Always read between the lines BT, never accept anything at face value.
