Think so. I remember missing the last bus to Dronfield (11pm) and then watching all the buses depart and then go up to Hyde Park to ask my friend if I could stay over.11.16pm?

I recall the night buses went from Hight St at 0100 hours with the whistle being blown a couple of minutes before. The next bus was I think at 0320 the early morning the first timetabled bus of the day.Ah, the bus whistle. From what I remember, it wasn't just in Pond Street, but on High Street, where the "last, last" buses went from. Total panic if you heard the whistle and weren't on or very near your bus! Sheffield has never been a 24 hour city, pubs shut at 10.30, even on Friday and Saturday, last buses at 11.00. I had a mate who lived in Manchester (late 70's, early 80's) and was gobsmacked by official 11.00 or 11.30 shutting, and all night buses (for the brave or foolish!). ''Appeh days" though! Oh, and whilst we're reminicing, Wards was shite. Smelled like vomit, tasted slightly better. Drank lots though!

Last bus was 1.30, bail out of the Limit Club on west street about 1am, dash down to Fitzallan Square to get a bag of crinkle cut chips and then onto the bus with the rest of the drunks and ne'er do wells!

As mentioned earlier in the thread this is a mock up of the Sheffield Minitram. A monorail system to service the city centre. It remained on the drawing board. What the hell is that and why have I never seen or heard of it before!?
My apologies. I hadn't noticed, or obviously I would have waited until Bert had taken his rightfull place in the threadYours is post number 10,000, Bert missed it he was relaxing in the Billiard Room at his Gentleman's Club.
Totally agree, they still look modern today. The Roberts cars wouldn’t look out of place today they were that stylish, my favourite trams.
What a flipping great picture that is.
Good photo. I didn't realise how steep the Moor is until I tried pushing the missus up it in her wheelchair earlier this summer. I was blowing a bit by the time I got to the Peace Gardens
