I’ve said this before, never be nervous of a result because a team can be really lucky or unlucky.

I focus more on the performance, as long as they do their best and perform well, then no complaints from me.
I’m confident we will perform well and dominate doesn’t necessary mean we’ll though but invariably the team that’s creates plenty of chances and dominates tends to win. Expect us to win.

I wasn't even aware that it was possible NOT to be nervous before a derby. Now envious of those who are clearly made of stronger stuff than me.

To those referencing their recent results, there is literally no composition of results that would make me feel less nervous. Lost five on the bounce? They've bottomed out. Won five in a row? They'll smash us. Won one, lost one, won one, lost one? Well, it's their turn to win, isn't it...

The reality is that we're a very good team and they're not (and their recent results are very consistent with how they've played over the season as a whole - been scratching my head at some of their results before that point). Unfortunately that doesn't always mean the game goes how you'd expect it to.

It's the waiting that does me - tried hard not to think about it but in reality I've been imagining Sharp scoring a winner for about 3 weeks. Be rate once I've had a few beers on Friday.

Oi you, enough of your common-sense ;)

Before any game I never assume anything other than if we perform we might stand a chance of winning. We've gone from being a moderate side to a team that has potential. Still needs work of course, and possibly a bit more than some seem to think necessary, but even so Wilder has turned us around (sorry, I missed Knill out in that critique) and we're now looking very good. What was it someone wrote recently? They compared us to the Arsenal of the Championship? If that doesn't give you hope nothing will. We're a club on the up, unless of course the ownership wrangle finds a way of screwing up Wilder's hard work.

My boss is a Pig and one of the girls in the office goes out with one of their first-team players.

They’ve both already accepted defeat, which I absolutely hate because the expectancy/pressure is definitely on us, abit like it was for them in the 4-2 game last season.

Due to nerves, I hate the build-up and the 90 minutes and just want it over and done with!

im not worried because if we lose or even draw. We will only have ourselves to blame. We are a good side, they are not. All the results and stats state this. Of course we might get a dodgy pen against us. But I still feel that if we play to the max, which I believe we will. We will win.

As I have said before, yes of course I am concerned, we are playing our closest rivals so it goes without saying, however just close your eyes and imagine we are where they are, playing like they are and playing away against a side that has been where we are and playing like we are, I would be an awful lot more nervous infact I would be absolutely shitting myself thinking about what could happen , so I am mildly concerned about what could happen, not overly nervous .

Difference is jack, wilder is in charge of us and he will not let expectancy /pressure concern us.

Pigs are absolutely garbage! - but that means diddly squat when it's the countries only worthwhile Derby Day!

The difference between us and them, as it always will be, is that even with us clearly being the favourites and the all-round better side you'll struggle to find many Blades saying we'll smash them or humiliate them. Because it makes you look a right cunt if/when it comes to bite you on the arse and we're not arrogant enough to assume we're going to win just because of circumstances leading up to a derby. Owt can happen.

Of course if they do lose, they'll trot out the 'We were defeated before we kicked off' excuse, shortly followed by the pathetic 'Older bigger better' mantra.

Quietly confident but wary is the order of the day.

IMHO if Jos is in the dugout on Friday night Blades fans have nothing to worry about.

Confidence is shot, and he's alienated the best/experienced players so he can't now bring them back.

Norwich went one up, and ten minutes later they were three up.

If, however, it were six-fingered Mick in charge, then worry away.

It's not for nothing that Michael Vaughan offered to drive McCarthy to Hillsborough this morning.

He knows that time is short. ;)

Yes very.
Form goes out the window in derbies.
They are out of form but we must not forget they have some good players, Bannan, Reach (watch out for his shooting), Joao(if he turns up) and that big lump up front.

5 defeats on the trot-ters for a team that was top 6 a few games ago seems a bit extreme to me - so, yes, I'm nervous.

His win ratio seems less than sparkling. :D

He was in abu dabi

Far to many of our fans predicting a big win for us for my liking, the football gods will jump on any chance to fuck us over lets not anger them. The last time a set of fans predicted a easy win just look what happened, a lot of Blades are sounding like the pigs did last September.
There’s a lot of difference between us and them, mb.

They predict silly results all the time, we atleast bring a bit of form into it and watch how teams play to make our judgements, on this evidence alone I predict a 3-0 victory for us.

.....and just for clarity, there is no such thing as a twatting footballing god.

Whatever we say on here will have no bearing on the result whatsoever, I get sick of saying it.

I’d only be nervous if I thought we had a chance of losing or getting hammered, we won’t and I’m not.

They’re shit, and they know they are, they’re shit, and they know they are, they’re shit and the.............................

The one thing that gives me confidence is that Wilder will have gone all out on his homework for this one, he'll know exactly how to exploit their weaknesses, whereas Jos has got all on just getting any organisation out if his team

Might be wrong reyt enough, but I still think treason is punishable by death. This forum is full of traitors !
Tie up our team and manager in the Pukka pies corner all week. Starve em til w***y then beat em wi a lump of soap wrapped in a pigskin shirt.
Then feed them raw meat.
Let them loose on friday night.
Stop whittling will yer.

Yep. We’ll know their weaknesses more than they’ll know their weaknesses themselves. :)

We can’t just say they’re shit, that’s not fair on the scouts who have to use all the bullet points for the weakness category. :D

I was playing footy on Sunday and I got really angrey cos the ref gave the oppo a pen, I voleyed the ball has hard as I could and I think I might have fractured a previoulsy fractured metatarsel. I take this has hard proof the football gods exist.

Just want it over with. I hate the fact that its an evening game. At least when its a 12 o clock kick-off, you’re not twitching all day. By this time Friday I’ll have worn out the carpet.

I don't think the Spelling Gods will be on your side either, to be honest....

Lol, I wrote it on my phone in a rush. Also, I have no hard proof the spelling gods exist.

I know 3rd v 17th at home v a team that has lost 3-0 3-1 & 4-0. & a manager who is "on the brink" confidence should be at an all time high. But like OP says i dont like the gulf between the 2 sides & how everything points a to utd victory. Utd have shorter odds to the championship title 9/2 than wednesday to win the derby 11/2

If we capitalise on our chances like villa & wigan then we will be fine & it could be a rout but too many in these 2 championship seasons. Games where we had all the ball, territory & Had majority of chance but if you dont nake it count like v stoke city. You leave yourself at risk for a team to have 1 chance & score for an undeserved point or 3
