Good lad, been like a rock so far this season and excellent last season too. He's improved 100% since he first signed, and is now one of the first names on the teamsheet. He seems stronger these days, and has adapted well to Wilder's demands for one-touch high pressure football. Hope he's been given a pay rise.

If I ever met Basham would love to shake his hand because he’s proven me wrong.

When we bought him he had a decent Championship pedigree, so thought his qualities would be too good for league 1
But he looked such a very basic/ ordinary player with an ungainly style when he first played for us in league 1.
He was what you call “a committed tryer” and reminded me of a Chris Montgomery type.

His rise in form and ability since Wilder took over has been really impressive. The weird thing is he looks a far better player at the harder Championship level compared to the easier league 1 level. Every time I see him show composure and a bit of skill, it makes me want to laugh, it still surprises me because he’s a totally different player ability wise compared to the CB under Adkins.

One of those unsung hero’s that should feel really proud of himself. Well done Chris!

Not bad for a player that some had been predicting in the summer would be the casualty at the back following Egan’s arrival. He’s been excellent for a long time now – on Saturday alone you could see the confidence as he just seemed to glide past his man right at the South Stand touchline with what looked like impossible space to work with, and made it look completely simple. Has touch a big impact on the mentality of our attacking at times.

It's a since he stopped wearing "Adidas Captain Blade" boots.

Yep. I'm another whom he has proved wrong. Still think defensively he's a work in progress, but even that has improved out of sight. His energy levels alone are infectious on those around him.

I'd say his spell at RWB last season seemed to throw him, as did playing alongside Baldock. Now Freeman is back, that right side looks much stronger. Maybe having Egan next to him is also improving his positioning.

Prepare for some grief.....

I liked Montgomery, hard worker, used to run about all day and tenacious tackler.
But his passing was terrible at times as though the end of his boots were shaped like a 50p piece.

There’s only been a few SU players over the years that have something so badly on the pitch that it’s actually made me laugh at our own players. Jordan Stewart, Nyron Nosworthy and Chris Montgomery,

Not all players are perfect though and would prefer to appreciate a players good points.
Even at their worse you could never question Montgomery’s or Basham’s characters.

Can someone copy and paste the article into here? The Star website makes my phone want to commit suicide
Something like
Basham Close to Signing New Contract
Chris Basham, 30 year old Sheffield United defender, is close to signing a new contract. The 30 year old defender has been offered a new deal by the club and is expected to sign within days. Basham, 30, is out of contract in July 2019 and is expected to take full advantage of a new contract offfer from Sheffield United. Chris Wilder was unavailable for comment but would have probably said ‘I’m ‘appeh’.

Tut tut, must try harder.

For more Blades news have a rummage around near 'births, marriages and deaths' and that might be a little bit inside the back page.

For Owls news see, Pages 1-8, 10, 12, 15-25 and all of the back page.

I've had mixed feelings about Bash:
Sometimes he's like a bomb scare, then other time we see Bashambauer!
However, his recent form has been pretty good so......
I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Afterall, even Coutts gave the ball away o Saturday! ;)

Bash has been fantastic since about March last year. Our most consistent performer

We must be mad
