7 or 8 players had stinkers against Brum, it was nothing to do with the fact he made 5 changes.

Oli Norwood doesn’t get a break, he’ll no doubt have 2 games with Northern Ireland. To a lesser extent, the same can be said of Enda and Egan
I think he is on four bookings so he is going to get a rest soon anyway.

I'm sure players used to play 2 games a week without a problem....
They did this in days gone by and smoked / drank etc. Now they are supposed to be finely tuned athletes.
As I said on another thread, full-backs never crossed the half-way line, wingers didn't track back, defenders didn't go up for corners, forward's didn't come back to defend corners... The pace of the game now is totally different.

New game for today!

Rearrange the above to try and make an intelligible sentence.

Daddy will be cross......

I've been told to make these mistakes today to make sure your conscious after Dad found an empty milk of magnesia bottle under your bed.

Apparently you'd spilled some in one of your socks...

and they can't drink like they used to ;)

Could see Stearman featuring if Egan's cut is an issue - that wouldn't weaken anything despite the fact that Egan has been playing better and better.
Would start the same front two
Maybe Coutts on later on if we are in a good position.

If only it was so simple, surely every manager would always play their best 11 every match.

The game is totally different from even a few years back.
United play a high tempo/ high pressing game which requires 90% plus energy levels.
Also if you flog a horse enough....then eventually it gets knackered or pick up injuries.
That’s where we went wrong last season and those last few matches we looked drained of energy.

For me the key is that Wilder himself admitted he made a mistake against Birmingham by making too many changes.

So I reckon he’ll make 2 or 3 changes max.
Probably play Clarke and Sharp up top, resting McGoldrick for Saturday.
Would imagine he’ll try to play Lundstrum, altho him starting usually means a defeat.

Ultimately you have to trust Wilder and his team of advisors who will have energy/ fitness data on every player throughout every minute of Saturdays game. Wilder will know the exact energy levels of every player, no guess work is involved.

I feel a bit sorry for Lundstrum as he seems a bit of a Jonah, when he starts matches we usually lose, the players and fans know this.

Blackburn have won 1 home league game all season, they appear to be better suited to playing away from home this season, despite the 20+ game unbeaten run at Ewood Park. Nothing to fear.

Need a shuffle, but would you shuffle tomorrow or Saturday?

You would think that Saturday is the easier game so i would be inclined to play same XI vs Blackburn then go v Hull as follows:

Henderson
Basham - Stearman - O'Connell
Baldock - Lundstram - Fleck - Johnson
Woodburn
Clarke - Sharp
Ok if you swap Couttsy for Lundstram

Yep, strongest 11 for me

Consider Satdis game come Satdi

The one consolation for me regards these changes for Tomorrow is that CW has already conceded he may have made too many changes for the Brum game, so I remain hopeful that any changes are the absolute minimum tomorrow

Woa.... what do they need a rest for. They've got a fortnights break after the Jul game.

Everytime we tinker it goes wrong. Play the strongest team, it's not as if Blackburn and Hull will be resting is it

I think its naive of fans to expect the same side every week. This is why clubs have squads, to shuffle the pack. Strikers generally need less of a rest, but the battling defenders and midfielders have to have a break every so often or their performances will drop. I dont like loads of changes either, but I understand the manager sees things in training, hears things from the players ("I'm seriously knackered boss) I dont think Wilder changes the team just for a laugh.

Blackburn the harder game. Pick the XI which started in the last game.

Don’t try and be too clever for your own good, Chris.

Most needed is to rest one first choice fullback.

Next game, rest the other fullback.

Assess the forwards before Hull. McGoldrick’s ability to drop deep suits an away team more as well so don’t bugger about with him and Sharp.

Consider early midfield subs in both games if going well.

Some must be rested from the Brum game.

Talk about getting too precious!
