'Since its conference opened in Liverpool on Sunday, Labour has already announced plans for worker representation on company boards....

Under Labour's "inclusive ownership fund" proposal, Mr McDonnell said workers would be given a financial stake in their employers and more say over how companies are run.

Firms would have to put 1% of their shares into the fund every year up to a maximum of 10%.

The amount of share capital available to workers would be capped at £500, with the rest - estimated at £2.1bn a year by the end of a five-year Parliamentary term - going into a fund to pay for public services and welfare.

'Broadening of ownership'
The scheme would apply to companies with more than 250 workers, although smaller firms could set up inclusive ownership funds if they wanted to.'

How do people think this will affect us?

We have more than 250 workers so I wonder what say they will have over how SUFC is run....

We don't have 250 employees.

We don't have 250 employees.

I thought we did?

I say that because under the equal pay transparency law we revealed the wage gap, which only companies that have at least 250 employees are obliged to do

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/gender-pay-gap-reporting-overview

'Employers with 250 or more employees must publish and report specific figures about their gender pay gap'

So either we published the above voluntarily or we do have 250 employees as I see it....

We will have to have 2 women in the team, someone registered disabled and a BAME community member.

It is currently a little hazy as to whether one of the women needs to be a lesbian or whether potentially a current team member could have gender reassignment surgery and qualify.

Diane Abbott will take immediate control of the transfer budget.

Not 250 full time employees, I'd say less than 100.

Still, if there's going to be an employees' rep on the board, how about giving Wilder a seat?

In McDonnell's la-la land, he'd insist that Maureen the tea lady earns as much as Billy Sharp.

Just shows how far politics has sunk in this country that some people think this rabble could form a government.

What a load of crap you've just wrote, but unfortunately typical in this debate, where people just lie about the policies of parties they don't like. If "politics has sunk" it's comments like this that are scuppering the boat.

Have you looked at Labour's tax plans at all? Under a Labour govt Maureen the Tea Lady might pay slightly less income tax or see her minimum wage rise by a couple of quid. Billy, being in the top one percent of UK earners, would pay a little more, but he'd still be far richer than me or you. They would both receive pretty much the same salary as now, the change wouldn't be huge.

Billy, along with other wealthy earners, would pay slightly more so Maureen can afford a few more things. Maybe if she's got a few more quid in her pocket she can afford a car to drive to work instead of getting the bus every day.

But we can't have that can we, because it's "communism"

Not one of them could fart without shitting themselves.

What a choice, what a fucking time to be alive.

Surely this is a great idea.

No way would we have hired Robson, Weir, Adkins etc if we'd have had people with common sense on the board.

Maureen... your time has come

What a choice, what a fucking time to be alive.

But 'Maureen would be able to afford a few more things.' Yeah, after Labour has looked after their pals in the public sector by dishing out pay rises, recruitment drives etc. and taxes - including council taxes - have soared to pay for it.

I hate the fucking lot of them, but they rely on tribalism, getting people to fight amongst themselves and people having the memories of goldfish. Nationalise the railways? They were fucking as bad when they were nationalised. The shower currently in Liverpool must think people are like kids at Christmas (which, to be fair, a lot of them are).

If you're quite happy with the clusterfuck that is our current privatised rail service and other privatised utilities who's bottom line is shareholder profit, the creeping privatization of the NHS, top companies paying no tax, wages stagnent for the past ten years, government in open warfare over the Brexit shambles, and the massive cuts to council budgets, fair enough. You're welcome to vote Tory. Jacob Rees Mogg would make a great PM wouldn't he? Hoorah!

Social Democratic parties across Europe have evolved since the 70s and now they are much more innovative and pragmatic. Labour's policies aren't much different to the major left-leaning parties of Germany, Sweden and other north European center-left parties. But look how much better the Tories are doing than that lot, eh?

Personally I'd rather give Labour a chance than allow that bunch of privileged, overpaid, corrupt public schoolboys another five years in office.

Are any of them interested in sending policemen to burglaries or dealing with the violent crime epidemic instead of paying Durham Constabulary overtime to sit in a van for hours while a footy match with at most, 2.5k away fans builds up?

Twats the lot of em.

But, Dkc, Labour in this country haven't evolved - they're still stuck in the 80s time-warp of Derek Hatton - as can be seen in Liverpool this week. It's not a case of 'You're welcome to vote Tory. Jacob Rees Mogg would make a great PM wouldn't he? Hoorah!'. I'll never vote for any of the cunts again. The reason most MPs are remainers is because - like the Tory/LibDem coalition - they can talk tough and make election-winning promises, but then claim 'We wanted to do X, Y, Z, but the EU rules wouldn't let us.' (as May repeatedly did with immigration when she was Home Secretary).

And so it goes on. Comparing Labour and the Tories is like comparing cancer with Aids. But give 'the other lot' 5 years out of power and people forget how bad they were when they were last in Government. Our entire political system is one big stitch-up. Last week the entire system was suspended because it was the LibDem conference. That's right, the ludicrously-named 'Liberal Democrats' (who are neither) with 8% of the vote and 1 MP. So we're ruled by two identical bunch of chancers whose idea of 'wealth distribution' is into their own pockets. Not all of them? Well 389 out of 650 ain't bad - only 2 of whom were jailed (Fiddled expenses ten years ago).

Want a copper? There's hundreds permanently deployed around Parliament - usually armed - keeping the whole stinking system in place.

Ah yes, you're right. Didn't they just vote for footballers to be paid the same as tea ladies? Or was that some made up shit in the Sun?

i'll never vote Labour again. They are quite clearly anti democratic. They do not respect the decision of the referendum which is typical of a bunch of middle class socialists with their 'mummy knows best' attitude toward proles like me.

That's a little unfair tho. I think it is more that mummy knows best, but tells each of her kids different things to keep them all on an even level of happiness. And if the kids don't make too much of a fuss there'll be sweets for all of them later (once mummy steals them from the Jones' next door).

Well McDonnell, Watson and Starmer couldn't agree about a Brexit vote yesterday. Well, not until a "clarification" was issued so no one looked bad.

JC was privately educated btw. To cover for that, the term should be "toff" surely?

i'm sick of being part of their social experiment in creating a communist utopia.. they would be the politburo .. well of course they would. they are just a bunch of loons pissed off they missed out on the carve up in 1066
