That is possible, and should Basham play in midfield this season, we should have just the right amount.

However, though I appreciate that Basham is better defensively than most of our current midfielders, he would have a very tricky job displacing one of them, especially once Coutts is sharp.



Absolutely, fortunately were not in a rush for a new striker now, which gives us the ability to wait for the right one

I think if we look at where we were at the start of the summer, we've pretty much got cover across the pitch without having to square peg and round hole it.

I agree on Bash, I'd rather him at the back, but having the extra defender means that he can also pressurise the likes of Norwood, Fleck, Coutts and Lundstram (who didn't let anyone down when he came on yesterday) in midfield in case we need an extra hard working body in there.

When you sit back and look at it, you can see that we've attempted to address many of the weaknesses from last season. Something that once i have a bit more time i'd like to post about.

This probably is the case, but unfortunately it's like your mum selling your bike to pay a utility bill: it's for the greater good, but I don't feel any happier about it!
My experience of growing up in Sheffield in the 1950s was that most kids learnt to ride a bike around the age of 10, soon discovered that Sheffield is full of hills, and about 5% continued to ride bikes seriously, and the majority of us thought 'Sod this for a game of soldiers' and never bothered with them again. Wouldn't have bothered me if mine had gone to pay the electric.

I think we're set up pretty well for the first half of the season, with funds left for additions in January where needed.

Overall, pretty happy with the work Wilder/Knill/Prestridge/Mitchell have done this summer.

What everyone...ie our mere amateur fans not out brilliant talented Manager....fails to realise is Leon will be always in our first team if fit. As noone else can do his role of building platforms for the midfielders t9 score goals....e.g. attacking midfielders playing off him as though he's a wall. Chris is a modern manager & understands these tactics. Even Keith Edwards....not the best tactician ex footballer ...said this is Leon' s role as dictated by Chris. So of you are bitching about Leon' s role or style of play you are bitching about Chris. And Chris will not bow to this forum bullying.....he will pick the best player for each role depending on fitness etc. We should be proud Chris sticks to his plans & tactics & is not deterred by some whining fans & ex footballers who have never managed... as basically no one wanted them as manager as knew they would be a nuclear disaster!

Ps .....so if it matters that you are popular with SUFC so not hated by the board ....if you are whingers about Leon I suggest you give your brain a spring clean. As negative comments will not endear you to our fabulous manager. He will just think you are one of the set of unprofessional thickies..
