Now we have a settled first team, if we have injuries/suspensions what does the back up look like and how strong is it?

First XI
Henderson
O'Connell Egan Basham
Stevens Fleck Norwood Lundstram Baldock
McGoldrick Mousset

Second XI
Moore
Bryan Jagielka Stearman
Osborn L.Freeman Morrison Besic K.Freeman
Sharp McBurnie

With Lunny one from a suspension feel there is no obvious replacement for his style. Who would do the best impression?

Forgot all about Morrison.
Wilder likes flair players with a bit of skill like Homes,Freeman Morrison just not enough to trust em to play.

i do wonder if we will revert to last seasons shape for a bit of december with Freeman playing CAM? some of the games are ones we can attack in more and we might be able to allow fleck/norwood the cm roles behind freeman?

Yeah I imagine if Lunny gets a suspension we'll go to last season's shape/just play Freeman, maybe ask him to adjust a little.

Can't see us risking Besic or Morrison for more than cameos currently, Besic maybe because he had a good cameo to be fair, but he does seem a bit rash and it's a big job.

GK, RWB, LB, CB, RB, are our weakest positions depth wise, I think we have enough bodies to fashion a decent midfield and attack if any of the usual are missing.

Or

McGoldrick Mousset
Stevens Fleck Norwood Lundstram Baldock
O’Connell Egan Basham
Henderson

I think Freeman could stand in for game or drop Didzy back n play Freeman further forward??
Same here, I'd just stick Luke Freeman in as a like for like swap and have him do the same job. No point messing with the system because it's done us a fine job so far :)

A lot of the second string will get chances in December. Wilder will have to rotate the squad due to the massive fixture list or risk players burning out.

My concern is the lack of action the second string get due to their being no reserve team fixtures. How fit and sharp are they going to be.

Don't be too surprised if one or two look rusty, unfit and slow to react.

No reserve team and a loan window that's restricted. Great idea FA. Geniuses.

Based on the two League Cup games...not very if you put them all together.

It’s the same for every team (although I agree with both points).
But I don’t think we’ll just chuck players into the first team. Our ‘rotation’ is likely to involve taking players off and replacing them with subs, to get the subs up to speed. Robinson and McBurnie are already getting minutes on the pitch both for us and their countries so they’re probably close anyway. With Lundstram on four yellows I suspect CW will give some game time to whoever is going to replace him when he gets his fifth.
It’s the unexpected injuries that may catch us out. We just need to get through to Christmas without anything major happening and we should be OK.

I think if the second named player on the second X1 list is called upon, we will be in trouble.

I know exactly what you mean but then I think of Crainie and Stearman’s flying header and think ‘be reight’.

Hope so Bush, don't want to knock Bryan and hope that he makes it with us, but from what I have seen of him he is certainly not premier league standard.

Did you think Basham was when you first saw him? Or Lundstram? If he plays, it’s because CW thinks he’s up to it. He rarely gets it wrong.

Can't argue with that and to answer you, yes I would have been happy to see both of them out the door (shudder)

I'm not expecting wholesale changes like in cup games, but it could be rest Egan and Didsy one game, O'Connell and Fleck the next etc.

Either way it can upset the equilibrium.

Can’t see it myself. I don’t remember him doing it before.
