Don't get to many aways but was there for Bobby Davison night so that's my no.1 by some distance.

Notable mention to the 2-3 defeat at Carrow Rd in the FA Cup when we were in Div 3 and they at the top of Div 1. We made an absolute racket that day and left with our heads held as high as they had been for some time.

Darlington, Leicester ,3-1 win at pigs, Northampton in that order.

Then a selection of Peterboro 4-0 in 4th, Deano scoring in win at Anfield, 5-2 at Southampton and then 4-2 at Forest shortly after, FA cup win at Burnley, survival win at QPR (Oh ah Bob Booker !) MK dons recently.

Pigs 3-1, Leicester 5-2 and that Forest game for me, although you have your scorelines mixed up I think. It was 5-2 v Forest and 4-2 v Southampton.

Deano scoring in win at Anfield

Wasn't that Jostein Flo? I think Deano only scored in defeats at Anfield (including the game where Simon Tracey made the best save that I've ever seen).

My favourite ever defeat (if there can be such a thing).

Ipswich away playoff semi final 1997. Incredible scenes in the away end for Andy Walker's scrambled equaliser.

I threw up with nerves whilst listening to that on the radio!

From a purely personal perspective, I really enjoyed an away win at White Hart Lane in (I think) 1990: against the odds victory followed by a great night in London culminating in a lock-in and then a different away fixture with some lass I met in the pub.

Only seems like yesterday, a day/win never to be forgotten.
Interesting colour those shirts.
Great motivator was Harry Basset and in my list of better managers at the lane.

How about a repeat this year!!!!!!!!

UTB

Darlington away for those who are old enough. Scenes that just wouldn’t be allowed nowadays. Fans almost laying on the touchline, the pitch being barely wider than the penalty area as the fans encroached in the final few minutes and towards the end a Blade fancy dressed as a linesman and actually ran the line for 30 secs as the true official was kidnapped by the crowd. All good natured of course.
Leicester comes second for all the obvious reasons and the pigs demise thrown in for good measure.
Like a fool I gave up my ticket for Northampton so I’ll go for my very first away game. 6-1 away win at Cardiff around 1978ish. 40 years on I still haven’t seen us win away by a margin so big

Ipswich in the Play Offs. A mate of mine. (Are you out there "Stokes"?). Stood up & said - I can't take any more of this, I'm going to hide in the bogs.
He's back within 30 seconds. What's going on?
Can't get in there, everyone is doing the same..

Longest night of my life. The tension was unbearable.

Darlington - I got in the Dressing Room after the whistle.
Leicester - celebrating in The Big Smoke, we were careful to always drink the ice bucket after each bottle of Champagne

It was November 1991, the Saturday after we beat Wendy 2-0. The away end reverberated to the sound of "We beat the Wednesday 2-0" to the tune of 'Blue Moon'.

I'll raise you...

Burnley v Hull City, 15 May 1984 in League Division Three. If Hull won by 3 goals (or more), they would pip the Blades for promotion. 2-0 up early doors, Hull failed to get that vital third goal and the Blades were up!

Many United fans were at that match.

Leicester and the night of the Davison obviously top 2 but I really enjoyed a 2-1 win at goodison park in the first league 1 season . Down to a 5 minute early goal but Hodges equalised before half-time and Brian Marwood popped up with the winner near the end and made himself a blade

Beating Grimsby 4 1 on a Tuesday night. Probably 03

We heard lads who sat behind us on pop on about a minibus. 2 spare seats so we took them.

Where we leaving from?
Meadowhall

What time? (Remember night match)
10 am lads

Pardon?
10 am lads

All dayer in cleethorpes rat arsed dancing on tables before game.

Proper cracking day and night out.

Kozzy scored via about 6 reflections from 30 odd yard I think.

Stockport County in about 2000. Their keeper was ex Massive (can't remember his name) and we gave him so much grief in the second half he really lost it; shouting things back made us worse, he started throwing bits of turf at us eventually losing it and gave away a penalty through a very rash challenge. He didn't half get a rousing send off!! We scored the penalty and won the game...

Port Vale Boxing Day 2014, enough said!

Aston Villa January 2014, couldn't believe my eyes!!

I was at that match and was bollocked by some Hull fans in The Bob Lord Stand who thought I was a Burnley fan as I’d shouted something about The Blades. I opened my jacket revealing my Blades scarf and they soon changed their tune from disgust to respect. They couldn’t believe that me and my three mates had gone over to Burnley. As the game went on you could see more and more red and white scarves and shirts being revealed around Turf Moor until at the final whistle the celebrations began.
