I heard Blackwell had reyt go at the two Kyle's during the play-off defeat to Burnley, a very uncalled for rant apparently

This puts me in mind of something that happened in the league game against Burnley a few weeks before, which was on Sky.

United had not lost away for 15 games (a club record) but Blackwell changed his team, dropping Cotterill who had been a big part of our promotion run. We were dismal and lost 1-0, creating little of note.

Just before half time Naughton got forward and had a shot which went well wide but was just about our first goal attempt. Naughton was them caught on camera, presumably after Blackwell had asked him what he was doing, yelling at Blackwell "I've had a shot you f****** w*****!".

I assumed from that exchange that Naughton and Blackwell did not get on...

In the circles I socialise in (this is tongue in cheek by the way), I can confirm that I’ve heard the same by an ex-Blade who was once destined for big things who was a mate of mine at the time. He played for us in the PL and then when KB got the reins he basically fucked him off on loan to a few lower league clubs and he never came back from one. I’ve no reason to doubt the story but there could be an element of “jilted player syndrome” of course.

Fair comment but I'm detecting an undercurrent of that on here. I'm no fan of KB although I acknowledge the job he did for us immediately post Robson. I'm merely saying that if you want to make it as a top class footballer, you are going to come across nastier bastards than KB. And if you can't hack the KB treatment, then you're less likely to hack the rigours of professional football.

Former Sheffield United defender Sam Wedgbury has spoken of his bad experience under current Cardiff City assistant manager Kevin Blackwell.

The 29-year-old spent four years at Sheffield United between 2006 and 2010, and part of that time was spent working under Kevin Blackwell

“He’s not great with the young lads – awful with the young lads.
“I was in the squads and stuff. I was with the first-team every day at that point, in the Championship.

As a young player, I was still only 20,21 and I had been out on loan and they stuck me back in.
I was warming up, before the derby at Bramall Lane against Sheffield Wednesday.
“I thought ‘I’m in here’. I thought ‘I’ll get a chance here’. It was me and another lad, Matty Lowton, who is at Burnley now.
“Then, all of a sudden, I was coming into training every day and staff were just hammering me for no reason.

“I didn’t think anything of it. They were just on me all the time. I didn’t do anything wrong, they were just battering me, making me do doggy runs.

This must be one of the worst examples of bullying in the workplace that anyone has ever come across .

He should , without delay , report the matter to SYP who would undoubtedly be happy to carry out a thorough investigation, particularly if he spent part of his career in Spain , Italy or the West Indies .

Who knows why this story has appeared. It could be true or it could be a load of tosh.

Part of being a footballer is about being able to cope under pressure. I presume this guy went to another club where he didn't feel he was being bullied by the coach and became a very successful footballer.

I heard Pep in the Man City documentary saying I don't care if you hate me. I think Pep needs to retract that statement as he should want all the players to be his best mate.

But he was one game away from getting both us and Leeds back to the prem too. His cv could have been very different.

I also think that he was at the helm during a fire sale at Leeds and still made them more competitive than they have been since. The Luton job was a similar cash crisis before he got there as they had ridiculously over spent under Newell. I think that experience was exactly why KMc thought he was a good option as he’d just got his credit card bill with Robson’s signings on it and a look at the wage bill made him shit himself.

Not necessarily defending him as I didn’t like him but I’m in the camp that we wouldn’t have gone down if we’d kept him that year. I might not have a season ticket anymore either but that’s by the by.

Our recruitment got worse and worse and anyone who doesn’t think the academy is important is an arse (I think of Ajax as what can be achieved).

It’s not just Wedgbury who is making these bullying claims, Chris Sedgwick also backed up Wedgbury’s bullying claims:
