Nixon saying that the Leonard deal looks difficult as we want too much money.
Good, Good, very good
The only way we should get rid of Leonard is if an offer is too good.

And there aren’t many offers so good you reduce your first team squad to about 20 for the next 4 months and have almost no time to reinvest the money.

The only midfielder I’d sell is Lundstrum if there was a buyer. That’s because I really don’t think he’s consistently good enough and he has limited scope to get in the team and he still looks half a stone too heavy. Not so for Leonard who has looked sharp and has multiple angles to get game time.

You pay us good money or he doesn’t go.

Wow CW has changed this club so much!

We will want at least double what we paid for him or GTFO.

Not had chance to study the threads, but are we entertaining the interest in Leonard? I hope not.

MILLWALL CLOSING IN

Millwall are closing in on a deal to sign midfielder Ryan Leonard from Sheffield United, according to Sky sources.

It is understood Leonard is set to join initially on loan until January when the move will be made permanent.

Sky still reporting hes off

Wilder said he wouldn’t go until we were covered... Washington doesn’t add that

That said is we could make say a mill in profit then who knows. Be disappointing as he’s a decent squad player for us - we should be demanding a large chunk of whatever they get from Boro for saville

Hope its not for the paltry £1.5 million being reported. Wall likely to get up to £7 million for Saville we should be squeezing them for as much as possible. If we don't bring anyone else in we are weakening the squad further. Lets hope we have a couple more to come in.

I don't normally question our management team's judgement, but this feels like a mistake to me. I think he adds depth and versatility over a few positions. Much more preferable to lose Lundstram who is more singular in his role.

Maybe Bryan can be the guy who covers defensive midfield duties as well as defence?

We should be anticipating him doing well for Millwall and setting the asking price accordingly.

That means more than £1.5m.

If he's even half decent for them for a few months, would they consider selling for £1.5m? Would they fuck.

And of course the Saville money should have a very large bearing. We know they can afford to pay. So extort them like every other club would with us.

The only reason gets a game is when he comes on to shore things up. He can be moved to improve another position then bash can do the same job

Much better just a loan than a loan with any permanent agreement - fingers crossed for that, if he must leave.

Let them see what they honestly think he's worth in January - we could make a big profit.

Alternatively, bring him back here and keep him.

If Coutts doesn't come back the same man, or we get Fleck/Norwood/Duffy injuried, aint we back in the same position that made CW buy all the players in the JTW (thats hes just sold/loaned)

Doesn't make any sense unless we get one in first.

Never been any good for us get shut asap, I'd accept getting back what we wasted on him in the first place.

Player at a good age, who we signed less than a year ago and has been in and around the team so far this season. He's now wanted by another club who have just sold their best player for big money. Accepting what we signed him for would be shocking business.

Selling him would be stupid unless we have a replacement lined up.

Agree. I said the same about Lee Evans but then we went and signed Norwood...here's hoping.

Ryan Leonard has been here long enough to have become a permanent fixture in the side if he was good enough.I always feel that when he gets the chance,he never really nails it,he seems overawed when he plays at BDTBL in front of 25K and he just hasn't developed at the rate he should have.If he ends up at Millwall it may help him as it will be a better fit for him, having said that he was a better punt than Lundstram,Evans,Carruthers etc...I think staying here as an occaisionally used utility player will not be beneficial for him or the club.

He’s got plenty of potential to play in midfield, centre half, right back... don’t get it

Kean Bryan is sufficient cover at CM and CB. We already have 2 right backs and Bash can cover there so can’t see any way that Leonard can get into the team.

The flat 3 in midfield. Like he did game before last which allowed us to control the game and win it.

Who remembers when for a day or too it seemed weird that we were allowing Lee Evans to leave!?....

I have to disagree. Not every player can be a starter. Leonard was just starting to prove to be an important squad player for us, adding athleticism and cover to 3 positions on the pitch. He was one, or two injuries away from a run of games and then I feel he would have kicked on.

Would be a disappointing deadline day to only bring in Washington and then lose Leonard. Fingers crossed that Wilder has something up his sleeve.
