I have an acquaintance who is a lower league footballer, the managers he's rated the most have turned out to be useless, the one he played under that he disliked the most has since gone on to do very well, gotten promotions and is now managing quite high up.

The free transfer was also correct but it turned out to be a player for the development squad rather than the first team.
