Norwood or Cousttseh

16/17 Coutts. Or 18/19 Norwood?

I haven't been today but it did sound like he was running the show again.
Why should it be OR why can’t it be AND?

Norwood is class, but for me Fleck was running the show. Norwood gives the opposition something else to worry about, looked like they had so much time and space on the ball today

Norwood was excellent again it’s freed Fleck up to show his class just like when Coutts was playing and Duffy is a quality player as we all know.

Absolutely no passengers in midfield now unlike the first two games.

Coutts comes back in the form he had last two season’s its a nice problem for Tufty to have.

It SHOULD be them all . Norwood too much space and time ? The opponents put 2 on him . That then frees Fleck up . Fleck AND Norwood too much space and time ? The opponents put 2 on them both . The problem then of course is that's their midfield fucked and Duffy Basham Freeman and Stevens have a field day .

In all my time watching the Blades our midfield now is the best I've seen .

I think the addition of Norwood has made Fleck up his game. Norwood is a proper footballer, which allows Fleck to shine. Evans and Lundstram were a couple of “headless chickens” which in turn made Flecks game suffer.

why compare they are both great players. Luckily we have both. Fleck was M.O.M today, but thats because he knows hes got a great player behind him backing him up. Not like them two we started with at the beginning of the season.

That doesn't work for me as we need the liknk and craft that Duffy/Woodburn/McGoldrick bring in that advanced role. Somebody is going to be disappointed and right now it has to be Coutts. Don't upset the balance of the side by shoehorning Coutts in.

Unfortunately I agree with Bruce, think Coutts and Norwood are too similar, both general link players that control tempo and possession, however we need a creative spark that some one like Duffy can provide and I don’t think Coutts/ Norwood are that kind of player.

What do you mean unfortunatley lol

I get where you are both coming from but I think it could work under certain circumstances. Maybe not the 3412 we play our most attractive football from though.

Sometimes away from home CW likes to play a flatter 3. In a flatter 3 Norwood and Coutts would be able to dictate the game and allow Fleck more licence to go box to box.

When we’ve switched systems completely to a 4 at the back something like a 4231 could also work using these two sat deep feeding the 4 attacking players.

Coutts won’t be ready for a full 90 for a while anyway, but once he is back... what and brilliant position we’ll be in.

Norwood Norwood Norwood.

Where are the Fleck threads?

He was fucking brilliant yet again, and truly a joy to watch. Could've even had a hat-trick today.

Norwood has exceptional composure and it rubs off on the rest of the team. It's very much like having Coutts back. One thing I think he does better than Coutts is switch the play - he does it a bit quicker.

When Coutts is back, a 4-3-1-2 is worth serious consideration.

I don’t want to put a dampener on this, but when Coutts first came to us he was getting over a very serious injury. It took him the best part of a season to find his form. Once again he is coming back from a very serious injury. I’ll be amazed if he’s back to full fitness and form before Xmas.
I can’t believe how I’ve not heard of Norwood before. For me he is different gravy. He’s come straight into the team and has been incredible. Anyone asking if both can play in the same team only has to look at the best teams from recent years. They’ve all had an incredible talent for retaining possession. That’s what Norwood and Coutts will give us. The opposition will be run ragged trying to get a kick. Happy days
