When did you decide to start asking people 20 questions a day on here?

Nixon's well informed and certain things simply not coming off doesn't change that.

Show me a better source if you want.

Is that not what a message board is for? I didn't realise we weren't allowed to ask questions. In future i'll just sit here and agree with all the bollocks you talk.

He might be well informed, that wasn't my point. My point was that in the past you've made comments about how he gets things wrong. Seems you're willing to take his word as gospel if it fits with your narrative.

Oh dear - it seems some people are again getting worked up - this time around wording of a journo's throwaway comment.

I get that people would like for new recruits, particularly a striker, to be sorted ASAP but it's all getting a bit silly.

Suggesting Utd pull the plug on a deal for a player they've apparently been pursuing for months on the strength that he is considering the (temporary) move is a new low, even if true.

Some need to take the blinkers off sometimes. He's at Villa, a bigger club with a better squad than ours with a better chance of going up than us. Why shouldn't he take time to decide if he's got a chance to prove himself and be involved in that

Doesn't mean if he does come here he will have been forced and not be arsed, just means he has a decision to make

You much prefer asking questions than putting your own views across, that's for sure.

I've always thought he's a reliable source. I've never said he gets everything right.

Asking questions is a way of getting my point across but I can see how you might miss that.

Anyway, yes I fully agree with you :)

Can't imagine Wilder settling for less than 100% commitment, but then again could it be his agent stalling ? More likely in my opinion.

I thought he looked more like Hartley Hare out of Pipkins... (kids, ask yer dad).

It looks like it has been run over then set on fire.

Could we have him on appro?

When I was a kid some shops in our village used to let you take goods without paying for them to try them out and if you didn’t like them you could bring them back, no obligation. It was known as “appro”.

I think this would be a great idea!;)
Most jewellers use appro to stock their shops, so that £10,000 Rolex in the window doesn't actually belong to them they simply pay Rolex when they sell it.

Bruce strikes me as the type of guy who would tell Hogan that he’s in his plans, then two weeks later sign Abraham or another PL striker on loan out of the blue.

The man makes Johnny Depp seem like scrooge

Surely a "point" (defined as an argument or idea) would have to be a statement rather than a question?

Now I didn't know that. Thanks. I thought it was something that had gone totally out of fashion.

I remember taking my mother to Cole Brothers to buy a washing machine many years ago, when I was just a teenager. I don't think she'd ever bought anything from anywhere except the shops in the village. But I persuaded her that she'd have more choice and better prices from Coles. She picked the one she wanted and asked the shop assistant if she could have it "on appro". The shop assistant didn't know what she meant! Then when she explained, the shop assistant said, "oh, you want it on credit then - you'll need to take this form and go upstairs to credit management". So off to credit management she went with this slip of paper. They invited her into this room for interview. She emerged about 20 minutes later and said to me..."I don't think I'll bother". I asked why not, she said, "It was like I'd done a murder in there, questions they asked me! They wanted to know everything about me! I've never been treated like that before! I can go anywhere in't village and they'll let me have owt I want without paying. They can stick their bloody washing machine!" :D

Anyhow, none of this is much to do with Scot Hogan I realise - but thought I might just have a laugh whilst we're waiting for him to bloody sign!

I've heard his grandad was a credit controller in Coles

Surely a "point" (defined as an argument or idea) would have to be a statement rather than a question?

The ‘point’ would follow on from the answer of the question. The question allows more information to be gathered and can help decide whether the point needs to be made.

I know mate, I was just trying to be a smart-arse by asking you a question that was also a point.

I only find your awkward questions annoying when they're aimed at me - funny how that works ;)

Good grief, if that is the case, I'm surprised CW is still interested.

CW has always maintained that he wants players that want to come to this club. If he needs convincing after playing for Brentford and Preston I'd probably tell him to do one

Agreed. Doesn’t matter where you have been. If you’re not first choice and Sheffield United are the only club calling you should take it.

It is one of those clubs where you can play in front of 20,000+ and be idolised if you score goals. If you don’t want to play in front of a crowd like that and be the big fish you have no hunger for success.

He’s welcome here if he wants it. If not, move on to someone else and let him fade away at Villa Park.

Yore getting confused with Steve Logan, the wrestler. He finished his career there and used to put old ladies in a double-arm Nelson if they failed to keep their payments up.

what worries me is that wilder said in interview a striker would be loan as we cant afford a permenent

We can't afford a permanent for the strikers he wants. I don't get why that upsets people.

I'd rather have a better player for a season to fire us up the league than a not so good one who adds little for the next 3.

Correct, loan a £10m striker for a season and challenge for promotion or loan to buy a Tom Bradshaw type that won't. I know what I prefer.
