But could we,if we choose a loan to buy in Jan.

I just prefer to avoid this or any other senario with Hogan.

CW has stated the striker would only be a loan - nobody has mentioned a loan to buy. I'm sure in Hogan's case because it would be too expensive (fee + wages over 2.5?? seasons?). I'm sure CW & team will be aware of Hogan's fitness if they are indeed interest and when he'd be ready.

Far too many are speculating and getting worked up on limited knowledge of the player's fitness and details of any potential agreement. Best just to wait & see what happens.

I like the player but if he's not fit it doesn't matter how good he is.

Ched is/was a ‘crock’ too. He’s now getting game time for Fleetwood and starting to perform.

Might it not be the same situation for hogan - a run where he’s first choice to get his mojo back? At villa with the options they have he would have been in the same position as ched last year. Trying to build fitness

It’s a Gamble but there is upside on it. The issue may well be that he does so well we then we Lose any chance of a perm transfer - like Cahill.

If he's not match fit and hasn't had any pre-season or a limited pre-season then it could be late October/November before we'd see him anyway and then you're only a month of the window opening.

I'm up for him signing if fit but that seems a big if right now.

Fair point - I do wonder how much of the limited game time is villa keeping him under wraps so he’s fit to sell.

He’s clearly not gonna be fit to start straight away but I’m sure he’s be able to contribute soon even if off the bench combined with behind closed doors.

Wilder will know all this and I’m sure he’ll have a plan to integrate him - IF he signs of course

That's my thinking, even if he's been injured and not had a decent pre-season it's not like he's been eating KFC 3 meals a day and been in the pub every night.

He must surely be able to play at least 45 to 60 minutes while he is getting up to full match fitness

He’s been spotted in Sheffield today!

Like Bryan you mean who is probably 2 months ahead of Hogan in terms of fitness.

Just based on whats happened with Kean Bryan I worry that Hogan might need some time to get up to that match fitness. I might be wrong, he might be fitter than we think but it seems he's not featured in any pre season, cup or league games.

But with how the fixtures have fallen. Hogan has still got another 3 weeks to be available. As if bolasie was the guy waiting to come in. Then he cant play v parent club & then we have international break. Til 15th september

In the worst case scenario of a no deal can we bring back Ched?

Nixon says he can come here if he wants. It's up to him, that suggests that a deal has been done with villa. But it's if he wants it.

Good grief, if that is the case, I'm surprised CW is still interested.

CW has always maintained that he wants players that want to come to this club. If he needs convincing after playing for Brentford and Preston I'd probably tell him to do one

He might want to come here, but it's a case of figuring out his options, which is fair enough if you ask me. I want someone who wants to come to the club, but I also want someone who makes informed (rather than rash) decisions.

Fair point. Did Wahorn (and his agent) really want to go to Derby? Or was it their bank balances that 'persuaded' them?

Please fuck this one off Wilder.

He's currently set for a few months on Villa's bench if he's lucky, so if he even has to think about this then we certainly shouldn't be giving him 35k p/w to play for us.

We'll literally never know. At lot of players are guided by wages and maybe Waghorn was, but in Hogans case, he's under contract at Villa and we've allegedly offered to pay his full wages. I'd suggest it has more to do with the loan to buy, I doubt we'd be able to afford or want to pay Villa's asking price and so we're looking at a straight loan, whereas he may have an offer on the table that provides him with more stability.

He would be a fool if he didn't consider his options. If Wilder talks to him and he signs then obviously he wants to come.
Wilder will sus him out if he wouldn't be committed to the cause. With his injury record Wilder will have arranged a concession if he breaks down.

When did you start to believe every single thing that Alan Nixon tweets?
