Should have created your own thread, entitled Why Doodle?Sorry to hijack the thread, but I’m watching National Treasure with Cage and Sean bean (good family films).
Did you ever notice he draws a Blades badge on his pad?

On the day that you were born........Close to you.
Because it allows them to kick towards their fans second half? Why do away teams allow us to kick towards the kop second half ,when they win the toss ?
Reminds me of Alan PartridgeOn the day that you were born........
Cos they can't be arsed to turn round after the toss.
Is that stat right? In our first win v Forest, I'm sure (but memory is not as good as it used to be) we scored at least one at the Lane End.I recall that, during the 1st top flight season under Bassett (the greatest ever escape which never gets mentioned as it was before the Premier League and therefore didn't really happen), we didn't score at the BL end until the final match of the season, when Agana bagged 2 there against Norwich (when the kop had no roof).
I don't know if that season was an anomaly but I'd be willing to bet that if analysed there would be a noticeable difference between goals scored at either end of the stadium. I don't know if this is a good case for having our fans behind both goals, or an improved kop atmosphere, but might be a good place to start for serious dialogue between fans and club to improve atmosphere.
Because I'm still in the afterglow of Billy's winner, I won't point out that I already said this in post 6, and I gave you a like for the reminder of walking round to the Lane end if United were kicking that way in the second-half, courtesy of the 3-sided ground. The miserable old gits there (younger than I am now, probably), did not welcome the arrival of kids with rattles.Because it allows them to kick towards their fans second half?
Used to be different back in’t day though. Used to walk around the ground at half time to go to the other end.
The solution, surely, is to have a revolving pitch, like a turntable. It ought to be possible with today’s technology.
No, all 3 goals were at the kop end in that match (all 5 goals in the match were in the 2nd half)Is that stat right? In our first win v Forest, I'm sure (but memory is not as good as it used to be) we scored at least one at the Lane End.
Just found the video, and you are quite right. Celebrating Billy's goal has probably cost me some more brain cells. Please don't tell Mrs HBT - all married men will understand why.No, all 3 goals were at the kop end in that match (all 5 goals in the match were in the 2nd half)
Indeed you did Sir! I didn't read all the posts before I replied, but it was an obvious answer of course. Thank you for the "like". Yes I remember walking from the kop to Bramall lane end and back at half time, or the other way round. I remember sometimes taking time out to explore the pavilion. In fact I remember watching part of a game (I think it was an FA Cup match v Northampton - a night match which we won about 6-0) from the pavilion.Because I'm still in the afterglow of Billy's winner, I won't point out that I already said this in post 6, and I gave you a like for the reminder of walking round to the Lane end if United were kicking that way in the second-half, courtesy of the 3-sided ground. I think you could do this at some other grounds, but I can't remember which.
I don't think we ever went from the Kop to the Lane End if we were kicking that way first half, but regularly did at half-time if we were kicking the 'wrong way'. And my earliest big cup matches were spent standing near the Pavilion, to avoid the crush. Rubbish place to watch from, mind.Indeed you did Sir! Now, there's another team that had a 3 sided ground for years - Northampton Town. I wonder if they also used to walk from end to end at half-time? Although the number of sides of the ground shouldn't really have anything to do with it.

Amazing stat. Any idea if it was deliberate, or did we just keep losing the toss?During the 1970-71 season we attacked the Kop End in the 1st half in 15 league matches plus the League Cup win against L**ds and we scored most of the goals at the Lane End.
Not sureAmazing stat. Any idea if it was deliberate, or did we just keep losing the toss?
Good god, man, find out, now! And if you can't, do what the rest of us do, and make it up.Not sure
