Sorry Leon but .......

No mate. Find me a thread praising Billy. It’s ridiculous that there isn’t one. He ran his socks off yet there is a thread about a player who points and claps a lot? Watch the game back, you’ll see where I’m coming from.

I’m not saying Clarke was shite because he wasn’t but the fact he’s getting plaudits when Billy was far superior is pretty embarrassing.
But that's not what you said in your original?
Billy had done Leon's work etc etc, Leon is idle blah blah..
Fuck me! Both of them out a great shift in, both worked their arses off shutting down, defending from the front. Bill got on the end of one in injury time, brilliant! He deserved it, he's an absolute credit to United. So why do people pull him down? I certainly see no evidence of it.
Can't we just say both of them play well together and not keep comparing?
Fuckin ridiculous!

People see him jogging around and assume he's lethargic and lazy.

But this is often over an hour into games where other strikers would just be standing still.

Any deterioration is down to age, not attitude or anything else.

He had a decent game today anyway.

Yeah, people defending Leon doesnt mean they don’t also appreciate Sharp’s performance.
Leon shouldn’t need any defending, he normally runs his bollocks off and misses a few chances.

I’m pretty sure that once he gets a goal his luck will change.

I like to call games as I see them though, I thought he looked a yard off Sharps fitness today though and it showed, the amount of good crosses we put in today and Clarke was close but not close enough was there for all to see. That was the best crossing performance for years.

I'm not Clarkes biggest fan, but I thought he did ok today, What frustrates me though, is that he doesn't seem to break his neck to get on the end of crosses, won't gamble and go far post, when everyone else is going near? He's nearly always on the edge of the box, not sliding in agonisingly close to getting that vital touch to score the match winning goal.

It's his anticipation and positional sense that makes Sharp the better striker, in my opinion.

Assuming you mean fuck off to Hillsborough.
Your opinion means fuck all to me.

Good to see that the spirit of rapier Sharp cut and thrust debate is alive and well and living on this forum .

I won't lose any sleep over that, but the fact remains we won, yet you still called one of our players a 'cunt'.

Are you sure you are suited to watching football?

He was poor in the first half, but got much more involved in the second when he dropped back more often rather than just standing on the edge of the box having balls aimed at him from miles away. Still think he could do with dropping, if only to give him the chance to make an impact as a sub and get some confidence going.

Most of the pace in our attack coming from Billy Sharp is slightly odd, Woodburn didn't really get involved enough.

That sentance is so wrong.

Ignoring the obvious....., he put a proper shift in. As did Billy, despite having to play down Our left for thirty minutes battling bigger players as the ball was knocked down that wing and in the air by Stevens and O'Connell , encouraged by Wilder. Glad he got his goal today, he deserved it.

.....times up i'm afraid. Surprised how uninterested he is looking. Wilder says the goals will come but first you need to put in a performance. Lacklustre is the best i can describe today's "effort".
How many more chances will Wilder give him?.The sooner we get a new guy up front the better we will be. He is missing so many chances it's unreal.

Booooooo

Spot on. Someone always needs to find a scapegoat though. We've won. It's often not enough....

I was perhaps exaggerating to make a point mate but if you watch the game back Billy was chasing everything and Leon wasn’t following him up, it only works if you both do it.

I also don’t like the comparison but I thought it was worth pointing out after some of the earlier posts on the thread.

A lot of people are willing to stick up for Clarke though and not Sharp so you can see why people keep bringing them both into it.

Decent?

Leon was immense today.

Paved the way for Billy.

In the last 10-12 months some so called supporters have spewed some utter vile comments about our two main strikers who have scored almost 40 goals between them in 1 and a bit seasons. If it’s not Billy it’s Leon. If it’s not Leon it’s Billy. Failing that it’s Leon versus Billy. One day we will buy replacements for whatever reason but both deserve to be backed for there contributons whilever they pull on a red and white shirt

Leon had a good game today and was unlucky not to score the keeper knew very little about the save but that is how things are falling for Leon at the moment. Still at the lane we have to have a scapegoat one poster on another thread actually blamed Leon for us not reaching the play off's last season :confused::confused::confused:

Thought Leon played well today, apart from his finishing but it’ll come.
Wilder has just been on the radio and he also commented at how well Leon played today.
Criticism was fair after the Swansea game but not today, thought Billy put in a decent shift too.

Did you go to the game?
I was surprised how much Billy managed to put into the game; he didn`t half work hard ! Rest of the squad take note !
