Sorry Leon but .......

Clarke did what he does every week and worked his arse off again. That's why the manager keeps picking him. Sharp had his best game in ages today. Got between the defender and the ball, was a nuisance all day and got the goal his performance deserved. If these 2 can both get double figures again we'll be in decent shape. They need competition and support. Mcgoldrick was OK today but played a crucial part in the goal so has to be counted as a good day for him also.

Need at least 1 more serious contender up front
 



He was better today than he has been so far this season.

But he’s not a patch on the player he looked this time last season, will he get back to those levels again? or do we need another option?

Well Wilder is trying to sign a new striker so maybe he has an agenda as well?

I hope he gets thirty. I hope he joins in the game when and if he’s not scoring. I don’t afford him a premium for being a Blade. I see his weaknesses as well as his strengths.

He was excellent today. That guarantees him a start next game and quite rightly so. The Bladey ‘must start every game’ bollocks is exactly that, just as it was with Brooks.

It’s when the opinions are founded on malice rather than fact. That’s an agenda and it’s unpleasant.
 



Leon did a hell of a lot of work today, sure he put the best chance of the game straight at the keeper but these things happen, I hate people just looking at strikers and sorting by goals re: their contribution

Maybe I just choose to believe that people are giving opinions based on wanting the best for United and all opinions are based on not rating a player.

I find it absolutely ridiculous that anyone would want a United player to fail.

He’s a confidence striker so his efforts today didn’t go in but had a couple on target and looked a handful. Played well when went 4-3-3 too.

McGoldrick was frustrasting today. We all know we need a striker, but sharp has to play.
 
He plays because he’s the only ‘target man’ we have. McGoldrick is a luxury player. Billy is a fox in the box and Lavery is just a 92nd time wasting substitution striker.

I reckon Billy will be doing Leon’s tea, ironing, washing, hoovering and spring cleaning because he did all his over work today. Billy was fucking brilliant! Leon was a reyt lazy cunt at times.
 
Not been today, but Leon came back overweight after summer. He was the same last year. As his fitness gets up to speed his sharpness will as well. Don't write him off.
 
The Leon goggles are up there with the Blades tinted ones.

He played well today. You’d have to have an alterior motive to say otherwise. He should’ve scored maybe but played well.

I’m not saying Clarke was shite because he wasn’t but the fact he’s getting plaudits when Billy was far superior is pretty embarrassing.

It’s not a thread praising Leon though is it? It’s people defending him against yet another attack, when we’ve just won and he’s turned in his best performance of the season.

Billy was better today. But...and hear me out for a second...what if it’s not Billy vs Leon? What if they both play for the same team and it’s possible to like them both?
