I thought first twenty minutes we were outstanding. Compared to the Swansea and Boro games we were like a completely different side. The defensive weaknesses will cost us two or three places in the table but I'm too relieved to see us passing the ball around and being attack-minded again to really care right now.
Agree about the first 20 minutes
but we never looked like killing them off. As usual, they were allowed back into the game and probably (just about) deserved to win.
Anyway, enough of this fairness and reasonableness. For a team as insignificant as Norwich, I fucking hate them. It's probably because they have no serious clubs for many miles around Norwich, but they just seem to have a Wednesday-esque feeling of entitlement They've had a brief spell in the PL and are now back at their natural level.
Farke is one of those managers who bend the rules to breaking point and has instilled the same in his players. Make no mistake, as 90 minutes loomed, their benchs' attitude was clearly 'why the
fuck are we only getting a point at Sheffield United?' There was a bit of pantomime in the technical area, CW pretending to play the ball back so that Norwich could take a throw on the halfway line, but deliberately missing it. This caused their assistant coach - Edmund Riemer - to gob off at CW, Chris responded and it briefly looked like a ruck was on

. As 90 minutes was almost up, yet another Norwich player went down as if shot. This was a clear ploy to allow them to bring their last sub. on to mount one last attack. As the fourth official prepared his board to show how much extra time would be allowed, Riemer was in his face, waving a bit of paper. This was obviously 'Look, you're saying 3 minutes but our extra sub. means this should be increased.' The 4th official was having none of it.
I'm not making this up but when Sinclair goes on about MoTM it's natural that we all think 'Who would
I give it to?' I think it was given to Egan but that's par for the course - giving it to somebody who's scored. Before Billy scored, I thought 'Billy. And if not, Leon.' Once again these two put incredible shifts in. Our forwards don't get much 'proper service', more hopeful through-punts or hope-for-the-best crosses.
Another of those games where nobody was outstanding and nobody was poor. Like United, we're not good, but we're not too shabby either.
