Well I thought we were on for a League Cup win this season and some Carabao. :(

Love how loads of people want to see United get kicked out of any competition as early as possible, because let’s face it, it’s hardly going to “distract a promotion season” is it?
Two things from me on this, 1) why not? Let's see how we go 2) don't be soft, this comp's on it's last legs, we've played a strong side and I'm sure Tufty considers it useful, nowt to be gained from more meaningless games though

I can't see this game as anything else but an unwanted, experimental runout. We at least got to see Norwood first playing with Duffy, and then with Fleck. All accounts so far seem to be very impressed with him.

Every player that started is part of the match day 16; this was a game we were taking seriously.

Just this cup

Always disliked cup competitions, including international duty games...always a banana skin for an injury or two!

Always concentrate on the league as far I’m concerned and I’m glad we’re out of this tin pot competition.

Getting very excited about this Norwood chap that’s for sure :)

An absolute 10/10 debut even accounting for the missed pen. Proper footballer that lad.

When we eventually line up with Fleck, Norwood and Coutts the highlights reel is going to be 18 rated.

Someone DM'd me via twitter to tell me I must be watching a different game for suggesting him MOTM.

He was far and away the best player in the pitch first half and whilst not as stand out second... Did well other than the pen.

The only thing he did wrong all night, brilliant debut. Wants the ball constantly and goes looking for it, distributes it well too, bit like Coutts in that respect.

MOTM (Sponsored by Doordeals) has never been an easier decision.

He gave us so much more from box to box, made Duffy redundant, Duffy looked like he couldn't be arsed tonight.

The shoot out wasn't lost just on Norwoods miss or was Moore projecting which way he was going. He was nearly at the post before the ball was kicked for the last 2

The experiment was taken seriously, and it sounds like we learned quite a lot.
However, when half the ground is closed off by the cub, it doesn't exactly send out good signals.

My only concern with Norwood is that when Coutts comes back is Norwood too similar - based on what some have said on here? I would like one of Fleck, Coutts, Norwood to be able to play in the Duffy role as otherwise we might lack creativity? I didn't go tonight so wondering what others thought on Norwood's role would be best at,assuming stick to the 3-5-2. I know we changed it second half but with Coutts back I would hope he would play and then how will it look.

We played Brooks behind Leon last season at times with no Duffy but not so sure Woodburn is going to hit Brooks heights, but its early days of course.

Duffy went off at half-time due to feeling faint and light-headed in the game, so that explains his performance.

I'd say most of them. He seemed to be on the floor before the ball was kicked for most of them. The Hull players just had to wait and play it to the area of the goal Moore had vacated. If he had stood straight he could have stopped 3 of them! The one he got close to was the only one the Hull player ran up a kicked hard without letting Moore dive first.
