I openly admit I was one of the doubters, disaffected, moaners etc whatever label you want to give the collective disappointed following the window closing and our bank balance looking considerably healthier than our team strengthening.

I still have concerns re our win rate of 9/32 and intransigence to stick with a system (and certain players) that appears to have been sussed and easily countered.

However, I don't get this new window and try before you buy malarkey. Maybe CW and his staff have it sussed and did not fall into the trap of paying over the odds. Seems quite a few players have been left on the shelf not meeting valuations of the parent club and that could be something to do with the new system.

I'm still worried by our stats of recent results that could threaten a relegation battle ahead but feel if the Norwood and Johnson moves are as good as some are getting so wax lyrical about and the striker will be something better than a punt we could be in for a bit of an exciting season.

Maybe the bang wasn't the slamming of the transfer window but the sound of the starting gun for CW to exploite the new system. Fingers crossed its still in Wilder we trust.

was thinking the same mate in fact alluded to similar last week ;)
interesting man utd and spurs have sat this window out almost totally

He certainly ain't behind the door, in any sense.

Folk read far too much into his post Boro match interview and thought they saw a man who had lost control of a) his dressing room and b) his transfer policy. In reality he was just extremely peed off at getting tonked 3-0 in a game that Sky decided to plonk in the middle of his start of season schedule. Not landing any targets by 5pm last Thursday didn't help matters but I am fairly sure that he knew he had things in hand.

Getting Norwood was a real coup, and especially so quickly. Add Johnson to that within the same week and it's terrific work. Landing this extra striker could prove to the only fly in the ointment though, everything possible will be being done to make it happen but I just hope there isn't another meltdown if we can't get anyone.

let's see who we get in as a striker, not getting excited about the seaosn ahead.........yet

Two strikers really. McG could well turn out to be a crock. I'd be happy with a proven Championship / PL goalscorer (of a decent age) and a punt from the lower leagues.

Didn't notice anyone with a white stick or a Labrador on the pitch!
