The bizzare thing is not his leaving, it's the meltdown on this thread.
1) it's perfectly possible for him to be happy at SUFC but also interested when an offer comes in and happy to move.
2) he has been heavily criticised by a lot of fans and I doubt he isn't aware of any of it. He will know that once that builds to a certain point his time with us will be effectively over, whereas he appears to be well liked at Wigan.
3) just because he's in Wilder's first 11 doesn't mean he is irriplaceable, in fact he will be looking over his shoulder at the imminent return of Coutts, knowing that he will take one of the midfield slots.
4) first team players are more likely to be made offers for than squad players or bench warmers.
5) you don't have to have someone coming in to move someone out who isn't key, isn't performing and who is happy to move on.
6) he simply hasn't performed to a standard that we need, for whatever reason that may be. Another offer at a later date may not come.
