What the hell is going on!

Not yet, apparently. Seems that the club were willing to let him go, though. How odd, after starting the first two games.

We’ve lost both the first two games and according to many on here he was shit, so maybe it isn’t that odd

I think most were questioning the team selection and that Duffy/Woodburn needed to start.

I don’t think many would have an issue if Duffy started with Fleck and Evans to be honest.

weve made bids , none came to fruition
man utds been in for 5 centre halves , with boundless resourses and come out empty handed
its how it goes

noticed the sky transfer centre prem boards said bournemouth have paid 11.5 for Brooks services
not sure if wigan only asked if Evans was available, doesnt mean we were touting him for sale

I think we need to wait until the loan windows shuts before a full on meltdown.

I do think, however, we need to bring in two absolute quality loans to justify things so far.

Nobody at all or no mark PL reserves well down the pecking order, will just show the club hasn't changed one bit despite the belief it had.

Hopefully in 3 weeks time we'll all feel a bit more relaxed about the season and feel more confident of finishing mid table.

I think it is odd to be prepared to allow to CMs, one a regular starter and both bought for fees in January, to leave the club, unless there are serious plans for the loan window. Those plans need to go a lot better than the plans for the transfer window because right now a few of us are confused as to what, exactly, the strategy is. And I’m usually a clapper.

Or they were signed as 'cover' for absentees (Coutts / Brooks) & we're now in a (better) position where they filled the gap & we now have different alternatives (Bryan, Woodburn, Coutts ( & even Leonard who's had little gamet time to date)

This transfer window has all the McCabe trade marks like a script we follow just about every fucking summer. Get the season tickets in nice and early. Say we don't need to sell anyone then we sell our most valuable player. Bring in a player big him up call him the record fee he turns out to be wank and no better than Stearman. Bid in for a striker drop the name of a player who is never going to come here then we can say we tried but. Say we have bids in for four players 2 perm 2 loans none actually materialise.Tell the fans the loan window is still open.
Is it just me who thinks the squad is being cut back to the bone to rake as much money in as possible before the owners enter mediation ? If so it is a very dangerous game we might be in deep shit before the January window opens and we can invest ....................... that is if the owners manage to sort things out without the need to go to court.

Did you hear his interview Tuesday?
Would that be the one on the radio before the match (which I think was recorded the day before) where Wilder said we had 2 bids in for perm players and 2 loan bids.................or the interview after the match, when he said we wouldn't be buying anyone, because we couldn't afford to bring in players that would improve on what we've got?

Why, if he has an idea of what players are looking for (which he had said), do we keep trying to sign players we can't afford?

All seems very bizarre to me.

We are Sheffield United .We won't be following these other clubs and strengthening. We will be doing things our own way by selling players, spending a quarter of the money we get for them and relying on three 30 plus strikers to see us through.

We seem so far away from the real world as a club it's embarrassing.

We're good for 58 points, chill.

You do understand we can sign players right? We can agree a loan deal and lodge paperwork with a view to the transfer being made permanent on 2nd January. We can even pay the transfer fee upfront, revolutionary I know but don't let Sky making a big deal out of the closing of the window affect your daily life.

Have a beer and chill out by August 31st we will be stronger upfront

CW probably had an idea of what the players wanted before any interest. Unfortunately, every time we showed interest, another team piped up and everyone knows supply and demand ups the wage demands.

If anything, blame almost every other team for spending ridiculous amounts of money.

On a side note, I did some work at Pride Park on the day that Lampard was having his first press conference and the maintenance staff all said that they couldn't understand why Frank was coming because the club had no money. 5 mill rising to 8!!!! You can have him Derby!

Derby have recycled their Vydra money, we haven't yet recycled our Brooks money.

Most likely one last gamble before ffp. The vydra money won't cover all there costs.

I'm disappointed as much as anyone about this window, but fuck gambling. We're blades, we'd lose the bet.

Chris has lost faith in certain players.

I think that’s why Lee Evans is on the way out. He’s simply not good enough.

Reminiscent of the situation with Chris Hussey at the start of the league one season.
