To be fair when you concede two goals from set pieces then whatever the formation you want has nothing to do with basic defending that we've not done well in our first two games.

To be equally fair, if you play the wrong (defensive) formation which means you are continually pressed back you will concede corners because you are under pressure. If you concede corners you will give the opposition chances to score.

I don't agree with this. I think Clarke is class and want him in the side. But I understand others may feel differently.

I appreciate what you say, but he hasn't shown it in the last two games nor in many of the latter games last season. McGoldrick has, in my opinion worked harder and linked better. Clarke has managed to miss 2/3 chances tonight, which was the story of last season.

Possibly so but any team can concede corners and we were slow out of the blocks tonight and by the time we'd woken up it was in the second half. I'm hoping from tonight's game that Wilder doesn't play Evans and Lundstram alongside each other. Both are slower, put your foot on the ball types and they don't compliment each other. Leonard would be a better fit or hopefully drop either Evans or Lundstram in favour of Duffy or a new number 10. That's all assuming that we stick with the existing formation which I think may well be time to change.

I agree its time for a change but I think if we play as badly as we did tonight then we'll lose even with 12 men!

I agree McGoldrick links well and looks technically good. He is though always on the back foot and has to use those technical skills to compensate for lack of anticipation. I think he's a good squad player to have but wouldn't select him ahead of Clarke.

Each to their own I guess but aside from the spell he had at the start of last season when he was on fire, he is missing and is basically a passenger most games, he seems disinterested and appears lazy. He is also quick to lose his head on occasion. (A la tonight when he got booked).

He has offered nothing in the side for a good portion of 2018 and the tail end of 2017 and we should be looking at younger, hungrier replacements.

I will grant him service has been rubbish as our midfield has been AWOL since Coutts was injured but ultimately he should be nothing more than a bit part, emergency backup until his contract expires now.

stevens? ok we'll have to differ on that one. Baldock is good i'll give you that, he's our most consistent performer, i voted him player of the season last year but he's not that much better than Freeman.. which is annoying because we have two of our better players in the same position.. henderson isn't ours and i think jamal was better on crosses from what i've seen so far. Brooks doesn't play for us

i dont' think being captain is helping leon. some players' performance is affected by being the captain.

Wilder promoted brooks to improve our squad last year( you have to acknowledge his choice) Henderson is the replacement for George long over the promotion team. You can debate Lafferty versus Stevens wilder sees them both and chooses Stevens (last seasons stats support this choice) Baldock versus Freeman is too close to call. the overall effect is a better squad
