Sorry, but he needs to take blame for tonight. He's got two team selections completely wrong and we've been picked off because of it....Saturday we looked so vulnerable every time they attacked, tonight is one of the worst I've seen all over the pitch front to back, we've had no creativity at all.

Last season's philosophy was we'll have a go at anyone....I listened to the pre-match interview and it was all about respecting the opposition and their quality? I don't get whats changed within our mindset, our no fear attitude was our biggest strength last season.

And please don't play McGoldrick with Clarke together again anytime soon.

We have not been the same since the 5-4 against Fulham.

From that moment onwards, we stopped with the overlapping CBs, overloading teams and playing with that carefree attitude.

That is absolutely spot on. Aside from missing Coutts, on that night we were undone by pace and, because we are surely the slowest side in the division, Wilder has been terrified of sides with a bit of pace ever since. Truth be told, that is why he selected the side he picked on Saturday, irrespective of the other explanations trotted out.

Worrying time. A lot to do, we are stuck with some woeful players. I feel for the players that are stuck on the bench.

Clarke has done nothing since getting a contract.
Evans is awful a league 2 player at best
Lundstrum don’t even know where to begin, has absolutely no qualities. None
Stevens - awful
Bash - needs dropping
McGoldrick - oh dear
Egan - harsh to judge too soon, but £4m he doesn’t look like a £400k player so far

Needs to take blame this whole year 24 points from 93 is sacking stats, but what's the point until the ownership has been sorted. Brooks money in bank will keep us going while they spunk millions in legal costs

Can't wait to see what wilder has to say about this performance

You mean the first game without Coutts?

The talk earlier today of big changes being needed, then nothing?

I can't help but think Wilder made a rod for his own back with the grief he may receive this evening by saying that and then changing nothing.

He has been stubborn with tonight's selection:
Sharp needs to start
Moore needs to start
Fleck needs to play centrally
Duffy needs to start.

We have the chance to put this right, but it has started so poorly. I love Wilder and he and Knill have provided the greatest United era in a long time but we're at risk of undoing all of that, and the vibe of the season just isn't the most positive.

Why do I say that?

It started with a shite kit;
Was added to by the sale of Brooks;
Compounded by boardroom in fighting;
And culminated in a distinct lack of investment or quality in the squad.

I am not convinced by the signings so far, I don't think they necessarily improve the squad and they certainly go no way towards improving the top end of the side, the very area we said we wanted to improve last January.

Henderson is not the strength of presence Blackman was, I feel he won't compare.
Egan has the potential to be a good addition but needs time.
McGoldrick should be a bit part player, not a central figure.

Whilst Wilder needs to be less stubborn with his early side selections - Evans and Lundstram does not work - noone can press on and improve their squad with the sheer lack of backing he's had/the owners can offer. We are set to stand still, as things are currently.

Sadly, it's more than likely too late in the transfer window now. So, we go with what we've got. In doing so, we need to go back to basics, back to attacking football, back to playing Sharp, back to playing people in their best positions.

Thought exactly the same thing, think he lost his bottle after that and thought every championship side could do that to us which they can't, would love to go back to those days, fuck the goal difference

Was that the first game without him? I bow to your greater knowledge if it was.

Says a lot about his failure to address this area knowing how long Coutts would be out for.
90% sure

2 or 3 good signings out of 17. Couple this with mind boggling team selections and you have a manager who is losing some credibility. His next few signings will define our season and probably Wilder's future.

Questions for Chris:-

What's Billy done wrong?
Is Leon Clarke your love child or is he selected in the vain hope that he will recreate last years form?
Why is John Fleck playing on the right?
Have you not noticed that Enda has been playing badly for nearly half a season and will not take on his man? Indeed had you looked at your stats you will see that most of the attacks down the left actually stall and peter out in that corner.
Have you noticed that John Lundstram is one paced and hasn't got a turn in him and his passing consists of a cross field ball or an anaemic safe out ball?
Was Stearman that bad!? Are you visiting the sins of Stevens upon Stearman?
What is wrong with starting Duffy? Is he not the most creative forward player we have?
Will you eventually get over yourself, stop giving respect to the opposition and get out of the too clever Trevor mindset?

Said that a while back, he lost his bottle that night. His comments before today’s game really shocked me but confirmed what I thought.

you know i was thinking about this. apart from Jamal we haven't got one player that has improved the promotion team.

Should've bought Blackman and changed the structure, it doesn't work in this league!
I think we're just starting to see Wilders inexperience at this level!, he ought to issue an apology to the fans after tonight, and refund all those that travelled all that way.
He decided, unbelievably, to pick the same garbage side as was a joke on Saturday, nobodyelse to blame for that!
He needs to realise that bargain basement isn't going to work this season, and that the league one structure, will only work in league one.
It's time to listen to the fans Chris, we all respect you, but your one of us, and if 30,000 of us can see what's wrong, why can't you??
Time for a change, and if the players aren't on board, then you may aswell forfeit the next game before kick off, because tonight was just embarrassing!

Betcha he says there's not much wrong and it was just the set pieces that killed us.

To be fair when you concede two goals from set pieces then whatever the formation you want has nothing to do with basic defending that we've not done well in our first two games.
