Two a side in the Double Six
Was Spud Tate there with you at the Chantry
Good to here he’s still about always game back in the daySpud's still a regular at the 'Lane, see him often.
Tony Mac, legend. Went with Steve to Aussie, top lad. Both were really close friends ,Garys dad coached us too with Tony Mac ,Steve went playing professional in Australia for Rockingham Utd for a while ,cant believe they will all be coming up to 60 now.
I had half as season with Timbertop, early 80's, good team then. Them and Woodseats WMC were top two rivals in Regional at time. Was going to put the same ,they weren't a bad side ,we didn't have to many problems with them. I played for The Double Six then the Chantrey who were you ?
They both went into the Anglo Scandia but never got above the bottom divisionI had half as season with Timbertop, early 80's, good team then. Them and Woodseats WMC were top two rivals in Regional at time.
I worked with Kev Pressley (no relation), their excellent centre forward, and he got me to go there to ease an injury crisis.
Played Woodseats in semi of regional cup at at Brown Hayley's, they did us 1-0, scored by ex Star Wednesday reporter, Paul Thompson who was a fair player.
At the time Timbertop had some really good lads, Pressley, Ricky Thompson, Kenny Ball (not that one), Colin James, Neil Smith (brother of Mark, who was sponge man on Sundays and a top lad despite his Wednesday affiliation at time!), Kevin Harrison....
Happy days...

Yea Bradway Saturday teamIs that the same Mitchell brothers who used to turn out for Bradway Hotel? From Lowedges. Terry Lemons played for the Abbey in the 1970's. Good goalscorer.
Broomhill shops with the old Marriott Hotel in the background.
