Eastwood is more than competent as a #2 and should anything have happened to Henderson we'd have qualified for an emergency loan.
I’m still having nightmares about that 5 minute cameo at Wolves.:)

What if Man U recall Henderson, technically it could happen, we'd be short then if Moore had gone

There's that and also the near fuck up he made of that clearance the other night. A few more of those and Moore will be back in the team anyway.

Just got a feeling about Waghorn. Think we'll pay quite a bit up front, probably more than some would like, and then get creative with clauses.

The second permanent is hopefully either someone quick, even if they're old, we need someone with a bit of pace in their locker to give us something different, or a 24 year old Duffy clone.

Reckon we'll get a couple from the Prem on loan too.

Perhaps one for the unpopular opinions thread but I'm slightly disappointed by the Moore contract news. We had an opportunity to cash in on a player who's not quite good enough but have instead now got him for another two years, most likely on increased wages.

And who may spend large portions of another season on the bench because he’s behind a player we don’t even own.

Assume they think they have someone who is alright and it’s less of a risk to keep him than go looking when we’re busy being desperate for a striker.

Coutts has missed too many games over his career and has had too long a layoff to be opening contract negotiations with him. Let's see if he's actually fit first.

Listening to that what stands out is CW saying no young loan player is going to come to BDTBL and expect to automatically play. In fact if its asked for they are crossed off the list. I00% agree with this. It does probably mean we won't be loaning any Liverpool players though.
We should ask Chelsea if Tammy Abraham is available for a loan deal.

Yes, the workshy Scotch git.

Let's make no allowances for two totally unconnected career threatening injuries, nor give the lad any credit for fighting back from them.

You're missing the point. We don't know if he'll be fit to play (or play well) yet.

Any contract offer can easily be made subject to games played this season. There is no reason why we shouldn't start talking now.

Imagine the anti-club outcry on here if we wait until January to see how many games he plays, and then he exercises his right to walk.

He has no right to walk until May.

And I'll worry about that when he actually takes the field again, which won't be anytime soon sadly.

In his last year he can talk to other clubs in January.

You are correct that strctly he can't walk then, but he can certainly start licking his lips at the signing on fees on offer.

That is hardly a masterclass in forward planning. As I said, any offer can be conditional and you never know, a bit of love might even help his recovery.

It's a fair point, it took him almost 3 years to recover from the last one by his own admission.I think this injury is different but it is slightly worrying that he's gone from may be available for the 2nd pre-season friendly to nowhere to be seen.

If there's one lesson United should have learned from recent seasons, it's not to give long contracts to players who've had long term injuries or are injury prone.

Coutts has admitted not giving his full effort for over a season after his last long term layoff. We only got that effort when Wilder put him on the list in 2016. This is a very relevant consideration
