"lesser home nation"! steady on Paul, you are one step away from saying Engerland are massive!
Seriously, I thought Brooks had a welsh Mum and / or Dad?
If players cant be loyal to the clubs who brought them through their academies why be surprised where they get their caps?
International footballers earn more money and play on a bigger stage, the notion that it matters where you were born and raised disappeared in my little world when Zola Budd arrived in her socks. Different sport I know.
His mum was a corgi

I hate Liverpool as much as anyone. But I think the loan fine thing is totally just.
So he turns up, goes out on the booze every Friday night, plays utter shit and is late for training every day, Chris can’t drop him because we’ll get fined by a club worth about a billion quid and that’s just?

Woodburn is class! We'd be very happy to have him for a season I'm sure...he's only 18 and a full international.
He's not going to get in Liverpool's first team for a few years yet,and he's getting to that age where he should be playing regular league football.
CW has already said that he's looking for quality over quantity this TW,we can't afford quality, so,let's borrow it..at least it might get us to the promised land.

But is it not third party influencing of team selection?

Influence suggests after a deal is done though? I agree with it. If anyone is daft enough to agree to it then fuck em. clubs send players out to play if they’re not playing then they may as well be playing in the u23s

Wilder is right you cannot guarantee loan players a place in the team he has to earn that right (performances ) to that otherwise he's not being fair to the contracted players If he's as good as his record suggest s he is ,he should have no problem.
Being only 18 he will have to be used sparingly as Liverpool would not want him burnt out ,we would have a duty of care there, we have a good record with young players that's why we may have a chance of landing him.

Liverpool loan target according to James Shield. A similar type of player to Brooks, with pace and good with the ball at his feet.

Anyone know anything about him?

I'd expect someone like him or Kasey Palmer to come in on loan now. We do need an option like that.

I just hope they'd be alongside a younger striker on a permanent basis.

He was until Liverpool found out Duffy and Jack can give him a lift

Get all three together on the wing and have them go "Eyrrrm" at the same time and it'll be like sonic confusion for opposition defenders. The Scouse wave.

Would never come to us move on.

He's very highly rated and I think scored for Wales at least once. He's also chosen Wales despite being born and lived in England all his life - lie Brooks, but presumably drank a pint of Brains once and qualified ha ha! I know Brooks's mum is Welsh before anyone says owt, only joking!

Why not? Wilson came from Manure didn't he? I get fed up of "fans" knocking the credentials of our club. We are a good Championship side with good management and fan base which would be very good experience for an up and coming Premiere league player.

Liverpool will look at us like many and say they aren’t an established premiership team just yet. They will be unsure whether one season wonder etc. We all know we will probably be better.

But when we came up the fans expectations where high but other clubs were saying we had no chance it’s same again and it’s there perception that is wrong.

Only way to change it is to establish ourselves in this division.

I would have thought if we were an established Premiership side and we really liked him we would try and sign him permanently not loan him.
Can't also see many established Premiership sides being intrested in loaning him.

I hope you meant established Championship club, however flip the coin on it's head. Which 'established' championship side do you think (if you were Liverpool) would you send Woodburn to get some game time? Also remember what Wilder has done for Broooks.

We're a catch for Premier League clubs, let's stop talking us down.

- Reputation for treating young loanees well; notice how they all still wish is well?
- Recent history of bringing quality youngsters through (Maguire, Walker, Brooks all in the spotlight recently).
- Ambitious manager and management team that players run through brick walks for.
- Play exciting, attacking football.
- Backed by good crowds every week.
- Good training facilities.
- Not far from parent club, plus we have a couple of Scouse lads who commute here so he wont have to uproot.

So other than financial reasons or maybe a guaranteed appearence issue, why would Liverpool NOT want him to come here?

Talented young player but he's naturally a winger rather than a AM and his style of player is more of a wingers type, unsure if he has the composure needed for that AM position or strong passing ability. Personally, I'd prefer Kasey Palmer as he's naturally an AM and has the attributes for that position.

They have clauses in the contracts at Liverpool penalties if the player doesn’t play. They make you take the risk if he plays or not.

That's changing the argument slightly.

As we know from Blackman and CCV, wilder won't just play players and Liverpool are learning that they can't guarantee players game time. Let's see how it plays out, but using saying we are not a good place for players to develop is not true as Chelsea and Spurs have found out.

I disagree with that. He’s been used in a variety of different roles for both Liverpool and Wales in the midfield and forward line. He’s flexible – he can play on the wing, in the middle, in the number 10 role. He’s as much a winger as Brooks is...
