No way are we paying £4m for Egan.

Amazed at our fans I really am.
Monday - don’t want to sign players like Mcgoldrick released from an Ipswich side
Tuesday - He’s good sign him but we need to spend money.
Wednesday - John Egan planned at probably between 3m. Nixon said it’s close to highest fee and we go mad.
Brentford fans can say what they like but they played him every game he was fit and was there captain.
Think you've got that right. He’ll be a cracking signing but those who think he’s great playing out from the back or bombing on might be disappointed.
A right footed O’Connell he isn’t. I think he’ll be in the middle of that 3 myself.
For me it's a yes and no to that. Obviously this is dealing in hypotheticals and obviously if Wilder is paying 4m for a player then you'd expect them to be better than what we have (and from what I've seen of Egan he is better than Stearman and Basham). At the same time you cannot simply play someone just because they cost you 4m. If we're purely going off of that logic then JOC shouldn't be part of our defence because he only cost 300k, Fleck should be behind Lunny and Evans because he was only free and Brayford should still be here ahead of Freeman and Baldock at RWB because he cost 1.5m more than both of them.I know mate, I was just clearing it up for those that think otherwise.
Agree with your second point to a degree but let me give you an example here of some sort, if a player costs £4m is he likely to start over a player who costs £400k? And that’s my point.
He’s a stopper. Proper defender. He’s there to stop us conceding these stupid goals we keep letting in. Happy with it.Think you've got that right.
That may have been the case last year but no way would he be playing ahead of Chris Mepham this. We've already turned down an £8m bid for Mepham, he's nailed on first choice if he stays. I promise I'm not slagging him off as a player, he's decent but most Bees fans will tell you he was an odd choice of captain, he's pretty quiet on the field.
Apologies, I was wrong, contract expires in 2020. We're a selling club, we generally sell players at maximum value if we can, we're doing that here. It's how we survive and has worked well so far.
As for him as a player, he's a decent Championship centre back, he won't be letting anyone down.
We've made two very big mistakes in the past few years that has shaped our transfer policy. We couldn't get Alfie Mawson or Jack O'Connell in our first team because we had older players blocking them. That cost us a lot of moneyWe all agree your manager is very good and he rated him enough to give him captains arm band and play him every week. Turned down our offer in the summer and it’s interesting to see on your forum only a few days ago your fans rating him highly.
Bit of an age difference.Brentford are selling (reportedly)
Egan 3m
Jozfroon 4m
There captain and both starters
And we sold someone who didn’t start for us for over £12m. Unreal business.

We won't make that mistake again - Chris Mepham will be first choice centre back next year and last year our best pairing was him and Andreas Bjelland but for one reason or another, we didn't get them on the pitch often enough
Not sure I've said he's limited? Mepham and Egan played because Bjelland was often injured.
And how many different spellings has their forum managed to come up withWhen did Bjellands name stop becoming funny to your fans ?
Is this close to being properly confirmed then? Seems people are talking about it with confidence now.

Love Brentford, regularly sell their established championship players for market value,no dramas, just get on with the job and are always a very competative team.I think we could learn an awful lot from Brentford and their fans, they understand the realities of life,i wish we did........respect !!Brentford are selling (reportedly)

You do realise the irony of your incressant arse licking of Stearman? You’re doing the same thing as what you shot others down for doing with Jake Wright, except to an even higher degree.I’m certain he won’t. I’m afraid Tufty rates Stears a good deal higher than you appear to do. Egan, assuming he signs, will play RCB. Tufty previously went after the Blackburn lad who got injured, Linehan, for exactly the same role. As I understand it the manager thinks we conceded too many goals. Bash, for all his qualities, is a dodgy defender.
I’m afraid some Blades confuse what they want to happen with what is likely to happen.

Not so much shakey jakeys, more shakey dick.
So a supporter of a club that sold us JOC for £250,000 comes on and you use it as an example of one club being better run than the other when discussing a player who hasn't signed for a transfer fee that will be undisclosed if it happens.Funny that the board at SUFC take the polar opposite stance, our piss poor board usually drop their nerve at the first derogatory offer that comes in, go all weak at the knees and sell the family silver at well under market value. It's how successive boards at the Lane have f***ed our club over for the last 50 years and why we have failed so miserably since the late 60s.
But I'll bet my last dollar that they'll be fans coming on this thread now making excuse after excuse for the board telling everyone what a great job they have been doing for SUFC!!!

?...we get daft cunts on here all the time who don’t think they’re ever wrong, never mind apologise.
Bladey Inferiority Syndrome.
Richard Stearman was immense last season. After his injury it took him some games to get going but he was solid. I love Jake Wright, I really do, but Stearman is a better overall defender than him.
