Can anyone remember what the upfront fee paid for Egan was? Was released in the court documents I believe.

The potential 4 mill fee takes away from what is yet another absolute steal by Wilder & team.

Did you watch Bournemouth today. He was not Man U Spurs level at all. One of the poorest performers. Diving, lightweight, fouling. Still got that bibbly bobbly no power finish problem too.

He's obviously got a lot of talent but he's a long way from showing it consistently enough to play for a top 6 team.

Also Man U and Tottenham are after everyone.
One game is irrelevant in the context of the season.

600k wasn't it ?

Bright start but faded. Had the clearest chance of the opening stages and missed it and offered hardly anything defensively when they were backs to the wall, and knocked off the ball easily.

Blatent dive in the penalty area.

Not many were good for Bournemouth but he wasn't one of the few for me.
I clearly saw the same game as bromtom . I thought he was poor today aswell .

Anyway, enough about him, and more about Eggsy . The guys absolutely rock solid and I'm still stunned by the comments we received from Brentford fans when we signed him . Have they ever been so wrong about a player before ????? Oh, hang on, JOC :D:D:D
Just shows how we all see the game differently.

I thought he was there only threat, taking Digne on everytime he got the ball.

I’m not sure it was a dive either, looked like the inside of his calf was clipped but he did make a meal of it.

I put this down to how they played him and how we play him.

Perhaps he felt in the shadow of supposedly the better CB of Mepham?

He has so much responsibility playing in the centre of Bash and JOC - he actually seems to revel in it.

Quality signing.

Not when the young tyro plays well it isn’t! The Bournemouth fans in S2 are all over it then...

When my team are playing really well and in the automatic promotion places, I like nothing better than whinging about early crosses and talking about a Bournemouth player. Fucking Bournemouth.

I’m certain he won’t. I’m afraid Tufty rates Stears a good deal higher than you appear to do. Egan, assuming he signs, will play RCB. Tufty previously went after the Blackburn lad who got injured, Linehan, for exactly the same role. As I understand it the manager thinks we conceded too many goals. Bash, for all his qualities, is a dodgy defender.

I’m afraid some Blades confuse what they want to happen with what is likely to happen.

Oooops....

Maybe you'd like to talk about our player, John Egan. The marauding RCB who sits next to the defensive lynchpin - Richard Stearman.

Egan has been pretty faultless these last few games. After a dodgy start he is now the first name on the teamsheet

He's an outstanding defender and is becoming as influential to this current campaign as Jake Wright was to our promotion season. And in terms of leadership, composure and just generally nullifying danger that takes some beating

Amazing signing if true.Probably my number one realistic target. We've already got my number one realistic goalkeeper in, so I'm very happy with the quality of our incomings so far. This gives us the flexabilty in the squad to play a back four.We didn't really have that before. This kid is not a ball carrier at Brentford, which means he's unlikely to play RCB - unless we've abandoned the overlapping fullback idea.Egan is excellent in the air and hard in the tackle. Also fairly quick, which is important when playing a high line. Lets hope he can read the game like ol' leadboots.

This kid knows his stuff ;)

Indeed.

Jake Wright was the lynch-pin of the back three when he played, just limited in anything but holding the centre - reliable, dependable but as with all player, we needed an upgrade if we wanted to progress.

Stearman (for some of us) WAS the problem for a lot of last season and not the solution to Jake W.

Egan is the solution this season and if our fans are looking at who in our team can step up a level (Prem) then for me he can. The Prem for me does not include the top 6/7 sides either, which is a mini division within itself.

What size shoe is he? I don't think he's ever miskicked a clearance in his life...
