I don't get it when people say Moore isn't good enough but Eastwood is. I'm only assuming Eastwood is being kept on as he is inexpensive, not seen him yet make a save which you wouldn't expect a keeper to stop.
Damn this dislexic spellcheckerWow didn’t know you could employ them, someone should tell Jeremy Corbyn!!![]()
Looks like the club are to hold contract talks with Moore to try and stave off interest

Didn't think it made sense to leave us with a loan GK and young Jake.
Apparently he's in contract talks? Seems odd.

What seems odd about it?
Firstly, Wilder was asked about bids for him yesterday and said there were none. Didn't mention anything about contracts.
Secondly, why would we want to extend the contract of a keeper who hasn't been good enough to start games ahead of Premiership youth players for two seasons running?
He's 28. He's unlikely to improve much.
Because he’s our only contracted senior goalkeeper, he’s in the last year of his current deal and even if we want to get rid of him next summer there would be a team willing to spend money on him.
That’s easy. He signs an extended contract - West Brom have to pay us more compensation.Firstly, Wilder was asked about bids for him yesterday and said there were none. Didn't mention anything about contracts.

Have you not noticed things like this happen before? Heckingbotham at Barnsley last season for example?
If he wants to go to WBA why on earth would he sign an extended contract?
Oh dear!If he wants to go to WBA why on earth would he sign an extended contract?

You lads...what world are you living in?
Signing a contract means zilch! What it does is give the player a guaranteed income for a further period. It doesn’t prevent him from moving. That’s all down to negotiation.
So, in Moore’s case, as it stands today, within a year his contract with United will expire. Put another way, if United don’t want him to continue after that, (or even before that), the maximum United have to pay him is up until the end of his contract. Then, if no one has come in for him, he’s unemployed. No earnings. On the dole. Got it?
However, if United offer him an extended contract then he has certainty of additional income. And United can use that if another club comes in for him, to negotiate a bigger severance payment. So they will say, “if you want him you have to give us this fee PLUS we are committed to paying his wages for another 2/3 years - so you have to commit to buy us out of that contract as well”.
More certainty of income for the player. Better fee for the selling club if he goes. It’s in everyone’s interest - except the buying club who end up paying over the odds because he’s signed s new contract.
To come back to my Barnsley analogy: Hecky signed a new contract with Barnsley on Friday and joined Leeds the following Monday. Why? Because it meant Barnsley got a shed load more money and so did Hecky!
We did the same with Brooks - and have most of our players tied up on longer term contracts for exactly this reason.

Devils advocate-
Would people be happy if we got say £500k for Moore and then spent a couple of mill on Blackman?
Don’t really see the point in selling as we’d really have to spend a similar amount at least on a replacement of a similar quality. Who’s available at a similar level of quality?
Imo financial we’d be probably about the same chucking a pay rise at Moore to keep him happy.
I love the irony of your post... suggesting signing Blackman, who has today signed for Leeds, BladeInLeeds![]()
Lol hadn’t see that!
Obviously not fot my finger on the pulse!
Perm or loan??
