This makes it look quite unlikely though:

Peter Crouch reveals plans for future after Stoke relegation
Peter Crouch wants to stay at Stoke and try and help them win promotion back to the Premier League, reports David Anderson.

Crouch, 37, is expected to leave Stoke following their relegation and the former England striker has one year left on his Potters deal.

But he insists he has “unfinished business” with the club and that he has no problem playing under Gary Rowett in the Championship.

“I feel like there is unfinished business for me at Stoke,” Crouch told Planet Football.

“I still have a year left on my contract and while I don’t know what is going to happen in the next few weeks, I’d have no problem playing in the Championship next season and trying to get the club back into the Premier League at the first attempt.

“Stoke have a wonderful set of fans, a great set-up in so many areas of the club, and it is a club that should be in the Premier League.

“Hopefully I am one of those who get the chance to Stoke back where they belong next season.”

Summary: I want one last payday at Stoke before I hang my boots up.

No real scoop here.

If you look closely at the Shirecliffe pre-season vids on the OS, you can spot him.

I'd take him, decent option for sure. Can't see it for one minute but we'll see.

Can't see it myself, but I think he'd be a decent addition.

Providing we actually learn how to take a decent corner this season...and Enda learns how to cross.

Can't see him leaving Stoke with a one year mega wage left - to come to us for under £15k per week. I'm only guessing but you would have thought he'd be on at least £30k to £40k per week?

....and can you vouch for this friend of your son?

A 500 word legally binding personal testimonial should suffice.

No - I have no idea who he is - checked with my son and his mate texted him saying “Crouch seen at Shirecliffe” - so he may well have just been quoting a Facebook fantasy merchant!

..he just popped round to help Ched clean the windows...he's struggling to reach dem top one's*
