Anyone had any experience of doing this for their Kids/Grandkids/ younger members of their family recently, and how was it?

Brownie Jnr turns 8 this summer, and i would like to treat him to being the mascot for one of the first games back in the Championship next season for his birthday present

My 2 grandsons did it against Coventry last season, they loved every minute of it including a tour of the ground, meeting and speaking with the players, getting on the pitch for a kick about and receiving a new kit. I enjoyed it because we won 1-0 with the ball going in off Sharps back and Long saving one that was 2ft over the line that wasn't given.:)
I don't know how much it cost but my son said I would have had a heart attack if he told me.

carnt remember how much it was think £180 got a discount cause hes a junior blade theres 3 differant grades , you get the full kit and 2 tickets so theres got to be £100 there , a blades ball signed, match program ,but to see his face and his mums face PRICELESS a very very enjoyable day

book early we booked it in sept and there wasnt many left, and it was original his mums birthday on that day march 11 th so thats whywe picked the millwall game

My grandson was mascot a couple of years ago. Loved it. And my grandson did as well. Expensive, but they did make it special. He still rates it as one of the best days of his life. Several family members clubbed together for it as a birthday present, and I seem to remember we got decent deals with extra tickets. I imagine it will be quite difficult to book slots next season.

Yeah, paid £250 for the lads birthday last year, then had to buy tickets for the family to see him, 2 of them on our gerts side are millers fans, couldn't grasp the prospect of putting the round thing in the big square thing though!!?!! And had to explain the rules of the game every ten minutes, wouldn't mind, but they've got season tickets at new York stadium!!!!
So, great for the lad, not so good on the wallet after that!, would do it again though, even though he's 11 now.

Daughter has done it twice, won a package in our first season down in League 1 and she was mascot against Wycombe, then I paid for it two seasons ago when we beat Donny at home. Personally thought it was great value as it's an experience she will never forget. The players were great with her, she walked out with Steve Davis and he was chatting to her about what she liked doing, how she was doing at school etc.

Plus as an adult it was great for me too, sad at nearly 50 to get excited about going in the changing rooms and meeting players but little things and little minds eh?

There is already a waiting list for next season! My lad is on it - thought I'd try and give him the experience before he is too old (13 is the cut off point) !

Sounds brilliant. Do you think my wife could get me one as a birthday present.

A 43 year old man in full kit (including shinnies)..running out onto the pitch on matchday, holding billy sharps hand, and chatting about how I'm getting on at work?

I reckon that'd be good.

My 9 year old was the mascot against Leyton Orient in the cup and loved it. Well worth the money when you add it all up together, the photo album is fantastic full of action shots on the pitch and shots with all the players in the changing room

Wonder if we'd pass as twins? Sounds like a good day!

Are you incredibly handsome?

Thanks for all the advice. On my next visit to the ticket office I'm gonna call in, have a word with Mick Rooker and try and get on the waiting list.

My lad did it last season in February. Just so you know, you get the kit voucher when you pay so even if you get a game near the end of the season you can get the kit well before that.

I know a guy who was mascot on his 50th birthday for a Belfast derby between linfield and Glentoran. It was quite a sight to see a 6 foot mascot lead the glens out in his full kit.

Called up this morning at 9:45am to book a mascot package for the lad - earliest Saturday game they had left was QPR on 12 January - so be warned, if your wanting one this season you'll have to get in quick.

Both by boys did it a few seasons back. It was a great day as you get to meet all the players in the dressing room, great legacy as photos taken with all of them, you get to see behind the scenes as they take you around the backrooms and you get to speak to some of the players whilst the mascots are having their pictures taken. It's a proud moment for the kids as they walk out with the team and this memory stays with them along with the photos of the day. My lads still have photos of themselves on their bedroom walls in frames of the day.

Do you know how old does your child have to be?

All sold out. I missed it, was too busy with work.... urghhh :(
There was only about 5 on my lad's mascot day and he got the last one. Can't see why they can't allow one more. I sit almost next to Courtney who takes the kids round. Do you want me to ask if anything might "become" available, or to let me know of any cancellations?
