That’s it then

McCabe owned the club and it was his decision to do the deal he did with the Prince.
No doubt he thought it was a reasonable deal at the time to share the financial burden but there was always the potential for something like this to happen.
If the Prince has not honoured a contractual agreement I'd have thought the deal would be null and void but is there evidence of that?

If Wilder walks and we're left with McCabe and a tin of beans, it will be the worst 'mistake' he's made.

Breach of contract? No one could just walk away though. How would that work?

When trying to pin all the blame on McCabe, it's probably best to apply some simple common sense, you don't need a law degree.

You misunderstand.
I asked if there was any evidence the Prince hadn't honoured any agreement, ie whether he'd failed to invest an agreed amount or amounts as part of the shared ownership deal.
As far as I know he's put in money over the initial three years (possibly longer?). I don't think there's any evidence he hasn't fulfilled any commitments.
(Though if he has but the deal was if he didn't meet any agreed commitments he could then opt to buy the whole shebang that would be a very questionable deal for McCabe to have done.)
I don't think McCabe's to blame for the Prince not having enough money but it's hard to see how he doesn't indirectly have responsibility for a deal he agreed at the outset.

Without knowing the facts how is it possible to blame McCabe directly or indirectly? You haven't thought that HRH may have decided enough was enough. Is that McCabes fault?

Well, apart from signing Robson and giving him a shed load of cash to compensate for the fact that he was piss poor. ;)

Could you share the info you have that's enabled you to put all the blame on McCabe?

Well he is, or more accurately was, the defacto owner of the club, up until recently his decision was final. Now i don't know the ins and outs but I don't believe a gun was held to head regarding the prince on board.

If he hadn't done that, well there wouldn't be a power struggle.

A game of if, buts and maybes, maybe Chris might not have come if the prince hadn't invested, who knows. Responsibility has to lay some and ultimately those are Kevin's decisions. Don't get me wrong I think they were made with the best of intentions, but they never seem to materialise into what we hope

I feel there was a metaphorical gun in the form of keeping us going that was to his head, not neccessarily to get HRH involved but certainly someone.

Given that we needed to get someone in to help McCabe, I still fail to see how it's all his fault.

Wonder if he will resign immediately after the Bristol City game

If Sky know something then Wilder must have been lying earlier when he said there had been no contact from Sunderland
To be fair though he was given the chance to put all rumours to bed with the very first question and didn't do so. He may not have been approached yet but I have a feeling it is inevitable.

My point was that if he hasn’t been approached yet then Sky can’t know anything

To be fair Sky or any company may simply have just covered themselves by suspending betting on him. They may have made enough to not make a loss

Unlikely to be a restaurant in Fulwood, unless its not licensed. Its Quaker land. Unless things have changed there's no pub or licensed restaurant there.
Is/was Shiny Sheff Fulwood or lodge moor?

Bizarre that an area that size are all tee total int it>

He said “formal” contact at least twice - and as the purchase isn’t approved yet Donald isn’t “Sunderland”.

How close is Wilder to this guy?

He purchased a 10% stake in Oxford in 2015 according to what I've read. Wilder left Oxford in 2014

They may have known each other at Oxford but have never worked together.

"heading up an international consortium" sounds like just the sort of thing Wilder would want to avoid TBH

Would be a real shame if we lost Wilder now

There is no question of anybody not honouring a contract. As I understand it, McCabe wants to sell his 50% and the contract gives the Prince first refusal. Either McCabe doesn’t want to sell to the Prince - or he just wants shot of the lot - but he is insisting on including hotel, academy etc in the sale. The dispute is whether, if the Prince refuses to buy the package but does want the club, McCabe is then free to sell to somebody else as the Prince has refused the package.

Some kind of old parish bylaw or something. But TBF if my local was the Shiny Sheff i’d be teetotal too.
Went there to a lads 18th a while back - had a bit of a shock :-)

I think it's shut now

Informal contact would be tapping up wouldn’t it? Is that what Wilder insinuated? I’be not heard the interview

No it isn’t - re-opened a while ago under new management. Decent family pub. Got the Sportsman and Three Merry Lads within walking distance too, albeit they are in Lodge Moor. The Shiny Sheff is right on the Fulwood/Lodge Moor boundary.

Good to hear

It was a mess when we went but no reason it can't be a decent pub and glad to hear it's being well run.

Might well make it part of a sunday walk with a pint half way round

Canton Orchard. Sometimes known as the mad house. West 10. Posing place. Rafters posh but good. All you may say Ranmoor or Nether Green. Further up The Rising Sun has a "restaurant" and opposite an excellent expensive Curry house at the end of his road called Lavang.
He was in the Canton Orchard.

If he goes I'll pitchfork his fucking tyres the posing get. :D

As I said, it is primarily a family pub but it is decent enough. The Sportsman further out along Redmires Road is a nice little country pub with great views from the seats outside - and the Three Merry Lads a bit further out still, does decent pub food. Depends what you want, but decent friendly pubs with countryside views suit me in my middle age!
