Looking where we are at the moment we have a shell shocked squad with no confidence who due to the lateness of recruitment hardly know each other. Even if the 2019 version of Wilder returns it will more than likely be another four games before we see any improvement, by that time we could be 20pts adrift of the top. Anyone thinking we will trouble the top four are suffering from S6 levels of deludamol, it ain't happening. Best we can hope for is scraping into the last play off spot and that will be a real tough task with this squad which we can't freshen up till January.
I'm not going to start comparing players with Sky Blues it is all a bit pointless they look way ahead of us just now but we have a few players in the squad who have hardly had a kick yet in fact the young Swedish centre back hasn't even put his arse on the bench yet. The loan players look awful, for me we could send Godfrey and Barrie back tomorrow they won't be missed, not sure why but our young players who did so well last season have been poor Brooks, Peck and Burrows especially. Seriki hasn't played that much but on form that kid makes things happen.
My main concern is up front Cannon is a dud can we expect much more than 20 games from Ings you could say the same for Campbell too all we have left is young Oné who did more than the others as a sub at Boro. Coopers drop off in form might have a lot to do with the opposition raining shots at him just now but he can do better for sure.

Be a very good turn around to get us into the play offs imo. Confidence is rock bottom and character of the squad clearly isn't where it should be

We signed Woolfenden from Ipswich. He is better than anything you have yet he hasn't had a sniff. Cooper isn't better than Rushworth. Campbell isn't better than Wright.

If you have 5 players that would walk into our 1st team why are you doing so badly? We've totally outplayed each side so far. You can't blame Selles for everything.

I didn't say Cooper is poor. I said he looks poor. That goal he let in from a tight angle was poor. His positioning a lot of the game was poor. But other than Tanganga he didn't have much of a defence in front of him.

The loans you brought in with only League 1 experience are certainly a downgrade.

10 to 12 games is a good barometer but given your start yes 15 games would be good

I got laughed at last season when I said Rudoni was better than O'Hare. He wasn't the player you thought you was getting. Grimes runs the show. Torp is a great 3rd player in the middle. We would struggle to find a place for Hamer but he is excellent in the Championship so would take him.

Tanganga was excellent last week. The only player who played for your shirt. Again against Ipswich he was your best player. You controlled the middle of the park for most of the game but were very poor elsewhere.

Maybe Cooper just had a bad game yesterday. His positioning was poor and 2 goals straight through his legs. He shouldn't have let the shot in front the tight angle.

Tanganga I agree. He was your best player against Ipswich and was a beast the game before. Only Tanganga and Hamer would get into our side. Your summer transfer window was poor.

Mate, you carried on with all this shite last season and we finished miles ahead of you and humbled you very easily at Bramall Lane.

Since then, we've lost Souza and Anel from our first XI.
Anel has been replaced by Tanganga.

We're not in the worst shape for a better manager to start getting a tune out of the players.

You'll finish above us because we've given the division a 5 game head start, but I won't be shocked if our form isn't a million miles away from yours if (when) Wilder comes back.

Ok, bit contradictory but if that's what you believe. Lost a lot of credibility suggesting Rushworth is better than Cooper though. You have some ok Championship players and im sure will be around top 6.

After reading this thread I checked the championship table to see how Coventry were doing (not been keeping up with football this season for obvious reasons). Expecting to see them in the top 2 with 4 or 5 impressive victories.

They are 6th. Drew with Norwich, Hull and Oxford. Steady start for sure but I wouldn't be mouthing off on other teams forums about how good we are after that

I think Rak-Sakyi is a big loss. We saw it against Ipswich and what Philogene did to Godfrey. Not saying JRS is as good as Philogene, but besides Hamer he was the only player in the squad last year capable of making things happen on his own.

They'd take Cooper, Tanganga, Arblaster, Hamer.

The other positions are probably much of a muchness.

Ok, I was trying to have a reasoned debate as you suggested only 2 blades players make Covs 11 which is farcical. You seem to only be interested in the 5 games of this season and not a players whole career so I'll probably bail out at this point.

Good luck for the season and I hope you'll find time to pop back on if things go a bit better for us over the next few months. Had a lot of fans from other teams come on here when things are going well for them then melt away when it goes a bit South.

Selles actively set us up to lose in every single game this season and the Ipswich performance is the culmination of what happens when the players confidence and belief goes. The ease in which we will turn this around will just simply show how poor of a manager Selles truly was.

We caught up Bolton and scunny around New year's time didn't we after a shitty start in league 1, plenty of time to catch teams. I dont see Middlesborough or Stoke being up there at the end anyway. Need to start having shots, scoring and winning immediately though if we are going to do anything. I think the next month is huge if we win 2 or 3 in a row, we can start to believe and the whole mood and confidence of the place will improve.
