That idiot who kept bringing flares to the game.

Hurt CW’s eyes.

The owners should never have allowed a situation to develop where CW would consider leaving for a L1 job. So it boils down to them.

But if he's been talking to Sunderland tonight then he deserves abuse from the fans. He can't be thinking he's untouchable and above criticism. He shouldn't be behaving like that at this stage. It would be disrespectful and arrogant.

He’s going for the money end of.

It’s a hard question to answer. Obviously the owners are primarily to blame. To puncture forward momentum at a club that has worked so hard to get back on the horse is poor. They can make excuses and give reasons, but it’s shit. If they don’t accept that, they’re kidding themselves.

If Wilder is indeed in talks with Sunderland before the season is even over, that’s not too classy and a bit disappointing.

As ever the ultimate losers in this are the fans. They are the club, yet are treated with 0 respect time and time again (not just at United, mind. Throughout football).

Sorry but if (and I don't believe he will) Wilder leaves, it'll be another example of a football manager letting his ego make decisions for him.

We are the best club for him at this stage in his career. He's had one year in the Championship and finished 11th.

Happens all the time with managers and players. Get on a good run, and then let their ego run away with themselves and start making decisions which make no sense.

If he leaves it's quite obvious he expects our better players to be sold and there will be no money to replace them. It might not the best way he's gone about it but you can't blame him. He knows next season will be nothing more than a relegation fight so why ruin his reputation with a shit season next time out.

I'm no friend of the board, but the fact that Wilder expects a situation involving complex negotiations and litigation to be resolved in a matter of weeks is frankly ridiculous.

The boardroom unrest could well be a convenient peg on which to hang his real intentions to move to a club where he is familiar with the new owner and would have a greater degree of control.

So he’s going because it’s a better club:)

He'd be going because the situation has gone so south with our board that he feels he can't do his job properly. You're not going to leave your dream job for a few extra quid. He and his staff signed a new contract the other month, for goodness sake.

If he feels the truth is there with the new ownership and the levels of investment, as an ambitious manager, he's quite likely to take that over a club embroiled in civil war.

To imply he'd do anything to harm this football club over money is insulting to everything he's achieved here.

Bashar Al Asaba interested to know your take in light of how you feel about warnock and his faffing around with Portsmouth. I know it’s a different situation but... just interested I guess.

It's a good question, and I'm not sure I have a good answer at this stage.

The fact is I love Chris Wilder and it would be an even worse betrayal in many ways. It was much easier for me to dismiss Warnock as a prick.

I don't know if I could ever hate Wilder as such. If he goes, it would just be, well...sad.

Where have you heard he's been talking to Sunderland. The takeover hasn't been approved yet by the EFL? For CW to talk to Sunderland he would need Board permission?

It’s not a few extra quid it will be for proper money.

He wouldn't need to formally talk to Sunderland.

He already has a relationship with the new owner. They could easily talk to each other on informal basis but with a prospective view to him moving.
