£600k loan fee for Mitrovic. As a matter of interest
Danny04 is that more or less than the loan fee that we paid Man Utd for Wilson?
I don't know if his wage has been increased significantly in the intervening two seasons, but when he sign for Newcastle he was on £33,000 a week, with an additional win bonus of £16,000 and £8,000 per draw. On deadline day, before he moved to Fulham, Newcastle were in negotiation with Anderlecht about taking him on loan. They were arguing over who paid his wages for the remainder of the season, which amounted to 1 million euros, about £880,000. Newcastle wanted him away from the club, Anderlecht knew this and were refusing to pay a single penny of the wages other than the loan fee. Fulham offered an improvement on this and got the player. I doubt that they are paying anymore than 30% of his wages.
For arguments sake & using back of a fag packet maths; if we are paying Wilson £10k a week until the end of May, and we're paying Holmes £5k a week. That's roughly £330,000 in wages over the same period. Stick on £350k transfer fee for Holmes & whatever Wilson's loan fee is, say £500k (although some on here have said higher). Fulham are in for £1.48m on Mitrovic (assuming Fulham are paying the full £880,00) and we are in for £1.18m for the Chuckle Brothers. £300k difference? I suppose yer pays yer money and makes yer choice.
*Edit: Apologies SF, i've basically replicated your post.
