Having calmed down a bit....

Current table as things stand:

6

Millwall FC 44 18 15 11 55:43 12 69
7
476.gif
Derby County 43 18 14 11 62:45 17 68
8
274.gif
Brentford FC 44 18 14 12 61:49 12 68
9
1497.gif
Preston North End 44 17 16 11 54:45 9 67
10
277.gif
Bristol City 44 17 15 12 65:55 10 66
11

Sheffield United 44 19 9 16 59:52 7 66

Millwall:

Middlesbrough A
Aston Villa H

We need them to fail to win both of these. Certainly possible, let's say they draw both.....

Derby County

Cardiff H
Villa A
Barnsley H

Their goal difference is much better than ours, so we need them to pick up no more than three points from these games. They do have a history of bottling things and are in poor form. Should beat Barnsley (who are nevertheless fighting for their lives), again its possible that they get nothing from Cardiff and Villa.....

Brentford

Barnsley A
Hull H

I think they have a really good chance. For us if they pick up more than 3 points it's all over. It's Barnsley's last home game of the season and desperately need a result. Hull have nothing to play for but are on good form and do have a good squad capable of picking up a result. The irony is not lost on me that we are relying on our Yorkshire rivals....

Preston and Bristol City

Whatever they do will be irrelevant as long as beat them both.....

Conclusion:

I would say if we win both our remaining games there's a fair outside chance we would make it. So let's win our last two games.

It would be nice to at least beat Preston and Derby to mess up so we have something to play for on the last day.

WE CAN STILL DO THIS

And then if we make it we have a fair chance of being absolutely battered by Fulham.

I agree with you completely, but remember how Blackpool got promoted by squeezing in and beating Forest then Cardiff XD

In any event the higher up we finish the more prize money we get and the more attractive we will be to prospective players and new investment over the summer

Excellent post, by Thursday evening all on here will be convinced ....:D

Its ok relying on one team to balls it up, there is always a chance, but there is too many teams above us now, plus in current form I can't see us winning our last 2, yes I know stranger things have happened but for me its over, a slight regret at a small missed opportunity, but from where we were after madkins to where we are now is nothing short of a miracle

Good OP.

Let’s be real though our fans aren’t top 7 for positive Vocal support. Genuinely as a group of fans I don’t believe we do deserve to go up.

I would say Ricky if we make ito to the play offs we would have a chance against anyone ,ten prayer mats in our lounge now .

Cardiff maybe, but if it was Fulham we'd have to play very differently - and get lucky.

I’ve said all along, we will go into the last day with a mathematical chance but we will miss out. I still think that.

I expect a win against Preston and renewed excitement/stress going into the Bristol City game. I predict four points for us but we will finish 8th/9th.

You mean the luck that has deserted us
evens out over a season ,
FM Blade 1 has got me beleaving again.
In reality I never give up until it's mathematicmathematically impossible.
If it's still on after Preston who knows

As Mr Suffaux says, I think it'll still be on against Bristol City, at one point we'll probably even be in 6th place.... only to be handed our customary kick in the bollocks, probably in the last minute from Aden Flint again... despite them having nothing left to play for.

Wilder said after the game he expects a big performance from us against Preston, would be great to take it to the last game .
I think players are playing for there future careers next Saturday, I beleave Wilder has been marking cards for sometime

If I had the confidence that we could put 2 wins together I might believe. Let's be honest any 2 of 6 teams could have had it sewn up weeks ago and seem to be being polite to the others and letting them have their chance. We might win at the weekend but don't think we've got 2 consistent performances in us at the moment.

I know it's the Blades way but maybe just maybe

theres always one team that balls and its usually us.

Or the real estate value goes up and negotiations are back to square one?

Similar under Blackwell, in the playoffs at half time on the last day but ultimately failed.
Sun was shining is Scarborough that day as a side note.

You say Derby have a reputation for bottling it but you're forgetting that we're the biggest bottlers in the history of the fucking sport.

Apart from last season when was the last time we even won our last two matches of the season? Probably about 1957.
