Genuine question, not an invitation to open a debate on anything else Ched related. He made some cameo appearances and Wilder spoke highly of him but he hasn’t even made the squad for the last few games. I know that he didn’t exactly set the world alight on his return but strange that he has simply ‘disappeared’ again - is he injured or just out of favour?

Has anyone checked the Premier Inn by Sheffield Arena?

Nothing’s happened to him. He’s just not what we need right now at this business end of the season. Better players ahead of him that’s all. Same with Carruthers.

Don't shoot the messenger here but I have it on very good authority that Chedwyn is the first casualty in the boardroom tug of war between KM and HRH . HRH never wanted us to sign him but gave in to KM's wishes . It sounds like the boots on the other foot now though :(

We are currently a team who’s major issue (by far and away) is scoring goals and putting chances away. Clarke, Donaldson and Sharp have all been guilty of fluffing guilt edged chances recently. As proven on Monday, Brooks is still short of full fitness. And yet Ched cant even make the bench.

I know he’s had his ankle problem, but he had that op in October- he’s supposedly been back fit since January. He’s been back in the full time professional game for nearly 2 years now; he’s had 2 pre seasons and been working with our extremely competent fitness team/physios and had the best medical care and advice. He also turns 30 at the end of the year. Realistically, how much longer do we keep hoping it will all click? I dunno how much he’s on, but even if its £3k a week, would that money be better spent on a couple of lower league “potential” players? Im not a Ched hater at all and I sincerely hope he proves me wrong. But cant see it now.

I expect him to leave in the summer, probably on loan to L1 until January. He can't be wasting any more time now.

This is exactly what I think will happen, loan that will be made permanent, if, by January he hasn’t done anything.

It took him a while to get going first time round, then bang here he is for nearly 1 season, then out for 3 years. To be honest it’s a tall order to get to Championship standard for most players, so to get back to it from 1 stop/start season in League 2 was always going to be tough. Particularly as he didn’t get a go at it 5 years ago either.

Just one of those that hasn’t worked. If he proves me wrong then buzzing, but I just can’t see it.

From what i witnessed against Fulham then heard about his efforts at Ipswich he's not even close to starting and no where near sharp enough to play at Champ level.
He needs regular games but we can't baby sit him through it whilst we are chasing the play offs.

I can't see him being here next season, regardless of where we end up.

This is a minor issue. We paid peanuts for Evans. The Boardroom unrest is nothing to do with this at all. It’s about McCabe being frustrated at the Prince’s supposedly deep pockets and short arms. McCabe has other interested investors but he can’t sell half a club. The situation is that Prince needs to take all, which includes the hotel, Academy, etc. or sell his half back to McCabe so McCabe can sell the lot to a consortium who wear lampshades for hats.

This is not based on any very good authority. It’s based on common sense.

Needs 1-2 pre-seasons.

People over hyped him to Mother Theresa proportions & unless he came back with 20 goals. Anything was going to be big disappointment. Which was highly likely considering that after the 1st few scoring spell. He didnt get many in league 2

Clarke and Brooks got fit again and he resumed his position as our 5th/6th choice striker

It's weird about Ched. He still has some attributes, namely strength and aggression, that gives him potential, but little else to say that he will be back on form anytime soon.

However, there's still this nagging feeling, at least for me, that there may still be a good goalscorer in there. I don't know why, but it's there. Maybe it's FOMO (fear of missing out), and originally I didn't want him back in the first place, but part of me thinks now he's here we should give him at least a decent run of games before we get rid. Whether that will happen I don't know, and we should be looking to strengthen in that department anyway, but personally I would hold on a little while longer.

It seems that Wilder was wrong on this one. He's been insistant thst Ched would be a valuable asset before the season ends but he now seems to have vanished again. Sadly it's not looking great. Maybe coming on as an 89th minute sub in the play off final and scores the winner? TBH, I doubt we'll see him again now.

Player who scored a few goals for Chesterfield early season but then had a long goal drought isn't good enough for the championship shock.

I don't think anyone will take him on loan.

Last I saw of Ched he was in the train station with Duffy on Saturday morning about 8:30am. Given we later heard duffy was receiving treatment presume Ched was doing the same.

Didn't speak to them. But rest assured neither had crutches, a key pass for a hotel chain or a girl in tow with a pizza.

What kind of treatment could you get at the train station? Maybe they’d gone for extra coaching as Ched has gone off the rails.

Please yourselves.

Well, as the station houses The Tap, there's plenty of the medicines that makes me feel better..........
