CW answers "hi Chris it's Gareth so how does this 3 at the back with attacking centre halves work "

Though I suppose imitation is the sincerest form of flattery :D:D

Even the idiot Blackwell made use of Kyle at centre half (and occassionally left back), so it's not quite Stephen Hawking territory is it?

Suddenly the media have Gareth Southgate as the new Pep Guardiola for playing a very good footballer out of postion and it not going tits up.

Hawking was poor at both full and centre back if you ask me. But still very slightly faster than Dean Hammond.

That'll be those new lithium ion batteries! Mind you his chair has been streamlined, there's about 67kg less weight than this time last year.

Not fussed about Southgate, but he's at least ditched Rooney, Walcott, Smalling and Cahill while the latter two are still with "big" PL teams.
Maguire seems he's going to be in the starting line up and Burnley and Bournemouth players getting picked, though there's not actually that many players to choose from.

Southgate even being considered at some point for England Manager, then being hailed as some form of 'thinking mans coach' goes to show how shambolic The FA is.

I think the remit is simple - A Manager who can get a system working with the players at his disposal (much like Wilder demonstrated by moving us from 442 to 352) and the ability fire them up before International games.

To be fair to em, they got it right with Big Sam but the greedy tw@ couldnt miss an opportunity to do some under table business.
