Seeing as we are all top scouts, just wondered who we all thought would be realistic signings for next season. Permitting we are in the championship which is likely but not certain.

Obviously our budget is usually a few million, with which we could make some very useful signings, so I’ll get the ball rolling. Try to be realistic.

Lee Gregory. ambitious move, but Sheffield lad and would surely relish the chance to live in his hometown. Would be a massive signing.

Michael Hefele. Centre half for Huddersfield last season, key in getting them up. Not played as much in the prem but imo certainly good enough to play with JOC, and ahead of Basham etc.

Ben Marshall. Probably available from Wolves relatively cheap. As a poster mentioned on another thread he can play right back and is attacking so could very much suit rwb. I rate Baldock a lot, but Marshall could be signed to replace him if an offer comes in or could arguably be an upgrade, at least in an attacking sense. Would also wind the pigs up as he played there for a short period.

Danny Williams- centre mid for Reading in their playoff season. Signed for Huddersfield but struggled to play in the prem. How much they have missed him is evident in their plummet down the table.

Dean Henderson (loan). Impressed on kim at Shrewsbury in goals, this is assuming we don’t come back in for Blackman as wealthier championship clubs price us out.

Ben Woodburn (loan). Arguably a winger but viewed by many as a potential striker. Bags of potential and may benefit from playing with Brooks if he does stay.

Wages permitting, we ( PNE ) should be looking at a few of these. Williams and Woodburn especially.

Gary Madine. Cardiff will need different attributes from their strikers if they go up. I can see some interesting forward combinations with the washing machine on board :)

Don’t think it needs much at all. We need 2 or 3 quality players in the spine. Def another striker. Not quantity but quality.

If we want a centre half, get the lad from Pompey - Matt Clarke. He’ll be going up through the leagues soon, is north of 6ft 2 and decent on the deck. Reckon Leonard will contest the RCB role though with Bash next year. Suspect a left wing back might be targeted though for improvement.

Centre mid I’d only go for Oztumer if he’s definitely better than Duffman. With Coutts back we look loads stronger here anyway.

I’d look for a quality striker as prior and another younger player to play up top off the bench. For me Evans and Donaldson need replacing and we need a challenger for Clarke / Sharp. Either go overseas or I’d go for either the lad on loan from Stoke at Walsall and/or i’d look at Mohammed Eisa.

Ben Marshall is a great shout !
Mcfadzean when Burton get relegated,
Sam Winnall if at all possible or maybe Tom Bradshaw.
Re sign Blackman.
Coutts fit and a decent spine signed , happy days !!!

Ben Marshall is MY shout.

Got to try and get Sam Gallagher if Southampton stay up and let him go on loan again. Same goes for Ollie McBurnie at Swansea.

Pigs would be in meltdown. Be funny to see.
Madines a poor championship player, that had a good game against us during a purple patch in his career. Let's not get carried away thinking our pork neighbours might be envious.
We've got to back Wilder in the summer, so any Cardiff player with 30+ games under his belt (that warnock bins) would be worth a look at .

The only certain thing about this is that if you become manager we’re going down!

You lost me when you said, “Lee Gregory massive signing” and then it got worse!

I think we’ll struggle next season if we don’t somehow get into a play off spot this time around and get out.

There’s a mess at Boardroom level but promotion to the Prem would force the issue. Staying where we are won’t.

I'll add to Scooter_mcgavin 's comment about McFadzean. Mediocre cruncher at best. I've seen him play far too often to know that he gets pulled all over the place. A backward step.

Clearly, whoever we sign should be a step up on what we already have. If only there were someone similar to a young Callum Wilson, mobile, strong, and can guarantee a good return on goals. Pace would be an improvement up front, so I hope we'll ensure that's a priority for us......but most importantly, the barney between KM and the Prince is resolved and Wilder is given a budget that reflects the ambition to achieve promotion.

Doug Matatersup - you’ll find him all over the field.

Sam Winnall is a rogue shout! Can’t say I’d object to signing him, hates Wednesday too.

John Swift at Reading if we have anything about us.

Mo Eisa is a no brainer for a club like us, given the value of decent strikers these days.

I could probably come round to the idea of signing Sam Winnall. I'd take Lucas Joao too.

Would likely cost in excess of £4/5M.
Agreed. The only way we can get better now is by spending that kind of money, on these types of players. Or by getting very lucky.

I’m careful to point out that a high transfer fee doesn’t necessarily equal quality. But in these types of cases it clearly does.

You can't mention the Washing Machine, I did that at the start of the Season and got fucking Slaughtered for even mentioning his name in the same team as our Billy. Madine is a big, strong, awkward dirty fucka. who can shield the ball as well as head it. Can see him playing against us and scoring when Cardiff come to town. Not worth 5 - 6 Million, Would leave a bad taste in my mouth but i'd have him upfront in our team any day.

I'd love it if we could poach Mr. Hooper from the dark side. Wages might be an issue because we don't aim to shaft ourselves financially, unlike some.
